Do you sleep with your wedding ring on?

The only time I take mine off is when I'm putting on lotion or doing messy stuff in the kitchen. I wash up immediately and back on they go. :goodvibes

I recently had new prongs put on my engagement ring and those 10 days it was gone were torture. I felt naked without my diamond, even though I still had my diamond band on.

I put mine on when I leave the house and take them off the minute I walk in the door. Eighteen years of this, I think my commitment is fine.;)

For those that have fingers that swell as mentioned above, Windex works even when liquid soap doesn't.

Those that take them off to shower I'm curious as to why? Is it because you worry they'll slip off? If that's the case they probably need to be sized down half a size.

I agree with this- its silly that people put so much into a wedding ring- it isn't the ring that means anything--its the commitment that the 2 people make to each other from their hearts, not a stupid piece of metal. I know some guys who are cheaters and they cheat with wedding rings on- I know others who don't wear wedding rings and they are totally committed and don't cheat--- the ring means nothing!

::yes::

I take my ring off to sleep and shower because I'm more comfortable that way, to cook messy foods because it's cleaner that way and to wash dishes because it makes the rubber glove too tight around it.

I keep a ring holder in my bedroom and another one in the kitchen so I always have a safe place to put it so it doesn't get lost.

My husband sleeps in his wedding ring, but he takes it off to shower.

This exactly. In my family we women have a special little jewelry box - mine is a porcelain round container with lid that was given to me on my wedding day by my sister for this very thing - to hold ring whenever we take it off. She keeps hers by her sink and removes them when she is doing dishes - I keep mine on my dresser and remove usually as soon as I get home and I never leave the house without my rings but rarely wear them inside.....doesn't bother my husband and don't see why anyone would else would question my commitment because of my choice to remove them....

My wife does this. We haven't resized them because they're heirlooms and they fit fine otherwise. The other reason is because she has really long hair and that causes problems when she washes it.

And every now and then she forgets to put them back on so I harass her about not wanting people to know she's married, that stirs her up good!

I never take mine off - it had to come off for an MRI, knee surgery and gall bladder surgery and other than visits to the jeweler to repair prongs it does not leave my finger. Neither does my anniversary ring. I wear them both on the same finger 24/7

I keep mine on 24/7 unless I'm putting on lotion or doing something messy (messy cooking, scrubbing the floor, etc.) though I suspect that will change soon with being hugely pregnant during the summer. I've been checking them constantly to make sure I can still get them on/off- once they seem too snug to remove comfortably, onto a chain they will go.

I only take my ring off for surgeries and to have it inspected.

I am the same exact way! As soon as I get home from work, ALL jewelry comes off. I don't wear a watch anymore because I had the habit of taking it off during work, at someone's house, etc. and leaving it there. I'll have been married 25 years this September.

I only wear mine when I leave the house; I never wear any jewelry when I'm home.

About 12 years ago, I had taken off my engagement and wedding rings because my hands were swollen in the heat (August) and put them on my bedside table. I never saw them again; we tore the whole room apart and never found them. Since then my DH has replaced them, and I have never, ever taken them off. THey are now quite loose on me, and I'm going into the jeweler's to have them resized. It will KILL me to have them away from me for that length of time; once they're back they'll again not leave my finger. I learned my lesson.

I must say, I'm surprised at the number of people who don't wear their wedding ring to sleep. My finger was swollen and black and blue so bad, I haven't worn it since yesterday morning. When I do start wearing it again, I think I will take it off at night.

The only time my wedding band comes off is when I work as a hockey referee. I used to keep it on all the time, but about 2 years ago, it was hit by a stick and bent and needed to be repaired. So now when I hit the ice, the ring comes off. But that is the only time I take it off....

I take mine off most nights because my fingers swell some at night. I take them off as I get in bed an turn lamp off and but them back on as soon as I get up.

I don't wear mine to bed either. It spins around and bothers me so I have always taken it off once I get home. My husband only wears his when he gets dressed up to go out somewhere. He works around machinery and it is just not safe to have on any jewelry that could get caught on the moving parts. We have been married for 20 years and we are both ok with this and that's all that matters.

I'm not married, but I am a big jewelry fan. I have three rings on my left hand and two on my right hand that I never take off. ;)

I never take mine off, but it's taken to falling off since I lost about 70lbs. Which I kind of don't get, cause when I GOT it, I was about my current size, maybe smaller. So why is it too loose now? Did it stretch when I got fatter? :confused3

But yeah, I sleep, swim, shower, exist with it on.

I only wore mine for a couple of days after getting married. I can't remember whether I took it off at night or not. I probably did. I hate wearing jewelry. My wife, seeing that it annoyed me, took it away and saved it.

Several years ago, she lost her ring and started wearing mine instead. I have no idea whether she takes it off at night. It's just a plain band, so it probably isn't disruptive. I never got her an engagement ring, so she doesn't have to worry about that at night.
