Do you sleep with your wedding ring on?

I never ever ever take off my wedding band (plain gold - no stones). However, I do remove my engagement ring and an anniversary band when I sleep and shower, because a jeweler told me that the stones will get cloudy with the soaps and shampoos in the shower, and I've scratched my DH when sleeping! :rotfl:

I haven't worn my wedding ring in years..probably 4 or so? DH wears his each day but I can't stand wearing rings. Drives me nuts.

If I do ever put it on, DH asks who I am out to impress :)

I don't need a ring to let me (or anyone else) know that I am committed!

I NEVER wear jewelry or a watch in the house. Ever. I take them off the second I walk in the door. And that includes my wedding ring. I could never SLEEP with it on (and it's not tight, I just don't like the feel of sleeping with jewelry.).

I usually put it on when I go out, but sometimes I don't, such as if I'm going for a run or just dropping off kids at school.

Doesn't make me any less married. It's just a ring. :)

When I first got my ring, the jeweler told me that bed sheets were one of the worst things for wearing out rings and not to wear it to bed so I always make a point of taking it off before bed... if I still have it on...

I'm really bad about taking my ring off all over the house and leaving it... in the kitchen, at the desk, in the bathroom, on my nightstand...

I've even taken it off at work to put on lotion and forgotten it there.

So far I haven't lost it though.

I seldom wear my rings or any jewelry. I feel like I spend so much of my day in water doing dishes, washing my hands, or giving baths that I feel more comfortable not wearing it. DH is the same way -- he works on equipment and feels safer not wearing it for fear it will get caught on something and amputate his finger.

I don't take my wedding ring off ever, but I only wear the band. My engagement ring doesn't fit anymore on my fat little fingers

26 years this August and both the engagement ring and the wedding band have rarely been off. Even kept them on through three pregnancies. A few surgeries where it was mandatory to come off, cleaning, resetting the prongs and heavy gardening are the only times it comes off.

No, my diamond is too humongous to sleep with on. Oh wait thats just wishful thinking on my part, it turns out that my fingers in the last 15 years have become too huge to sleep with my rings on :)

I have a plain (engraved) gold band, and it never comes off.

Well, almost never... I had to take it off for an MRI I had done. I take it off if I am mixing up something messy with my hands, like meatloaf. I also take it off if I am painting (a wall or a room, not picture-painting) or messing around with something really nasty like the engine of a car or I have my hands in the dirt planting flowers or something.

Other than that, it stays on... I shower with it on, sleep with it on, everything.

Yep, I've slept with them on since I got married in 1995.

I take my rings off with the rest of my jewelry every night. Also, when I am cooking something messy or smelly, painting, using superglue, having a manicure, and so on.

Same with me. I have 4 pieces of jewelry I wear. My watch, a gold bracelet that was given to me by my work when I left to have my *baby* (who is now 16) my wedding band and the crucifix dh bought me. If I am heading out somewhere nice I will put my engagement ring on as well.
The minute I come home they all come off.
We will be married for 19 years next month, so far it has not hurt our marriage!!

My DH doesn't wear his either, for just this reason. He works at a cabinet shop with lots of big computer-navigated saws, routers, sanders, etc, also big huge heavy pieces of wood/laminate. He did get it caught once and, though no permanent damage was done, it scared him badly enough that he won't wear it on a daily basis anymore. He does it put it on when we go out, or dress up for an occasion, or when we are on vacation.

Nope. I like to sleep on my side with my hand under the pillow so the rings would pinch my fingers. I usually don't put my rings back on unless I leave the house. Today I was home all day and never once had my rings on.

My DH was always playing with his ring. I don't know how many times he woke up and found his ring on the floor beside the bed or in the sheets. He played with it one too many times and now he's lost it out the car window. We tried looking for it in the area it fell off but we couldn't find it. Haven't bothered to replace it.

I never take mine off.

If I would need to, I'd need soap and water to get them off. :guilty:

This would give me such a panicky feeling! I have to take all jewelry off at night, I can't stand it. And if it's a day I'm not working or going out, I don't bother putting my rings on.

I lost my engagement ring diamond a year ago or so and haven't replaced it yet. I wear my mom's diamond band now but it doesn't really mean the same to me that my own rings did.

Only take mine off when doing messy stuff in the kitchen or when my fingers swell. I have forgotten and left my rings in the bowl on the back of the kitchen sink before, and gone to bed... had to get up and go get them because it felt so naked not to have them on!

Sometimes in my slep I lay on top of my hands, and it does cause my fingers to swell. Maybe you did something similar, restricting your bloodflow enough to cause the swelling.

I can't stand wearing any type of jewelry to bed and we can't wear rings of any type at work.

I only take mine off in the shower, though I don't really need to since our drain has a grate thing over it so nothing can get lost. I feel weird if it and my engagement ring aren't on.
