Do you sleep in your magic band?

Were you supposed to swim with it? I know I took it to the pool, but I don't remember if you could fully submerge it. It seems like a security risk to leave it near the chair.

Yes.
They are designed so that you can wear them at the Water Parks and in the pools.

I don't wear my MB while I sleep, but I'm not too concerned about forgetting it. I have a variety of bands to choose from and have to take the time every morning to select the 'right' band for the day. :flower1:

I take mine off when I get back to the room and put it back on when I'm leaving. I always put it in one place or looped around my park bag so I always know where it is.

Uggg - SLEEP IN IT?!:scared: I hate them and can't wait to get back into the room to ditch it. First thing I do is take it off. I don't wear it at the pool either - I stuff it in a pocket in our bag. :sad2:

We do as others have stated...take them off in the resort and keep them in one designated spot the whole trip. We keep them with DH's wallet and wedding ring. Usually in one of the "cubby" spots that are found on the dressers under the TV, since it's open yet out of the way. This cubby becomes our "only important items here" place. We then do a "band check" prior to leaving our room for the parks. While I know they're made to be water resistant, and we've worn them to the water parks before; we typically won't wear them to the resort pool. We'll bring one with us as our room key/for any purchases, and have it securely tucked away in our pool bag.

I would find it unsanitary to leave on..

1) How do you wash hands properly?

2) The obvious.. Think about it a minute.
I guess it does matter which wrist you put it on...

They are waterproof. You can wash your hands with them on (and wash them while you do it)...and swim and shower. What am I missing?

Well, for starters you can't wash underneath it very well.
That said, I'm one of those people constantly washing hands and it would drive me nuts possibly having a section that wasn't washed as thoroughly.

I'm surprised at the number of people who sleep in their MB! I usually can hardly wait to get that thing off my wrist so it is the first thing off when I get back to the room. I put it by my phone and park bag, so no chance to forget it. And on the way out the door in the morning, I'm the one conducting MB checks on the kids! No way would I sleep or shower or swim in it. Sometimes it even gets on my nerves while on my wrist in the park and I throw it in my bag.

Nope. Take it off at night and put it with my bag so I won't forget it in the morning. I do go swimming with it on so I can get back in the room!

Never, not even the afternoon nap. I don't find them uncomfortable at the parks, but I don't like them once I'm back at the room. I usually take all of my jewelry off when we get back, my fingers have swollen from all the walking. I put all of my jewelry and my MB either on the table between the beds or on the dresser. I never forget my rings, so as long as my MB is near my rings I won't forget it. And somehow, in all of our MB travels, no one in my family has forgotten theirs "knocking on wood".

We received our magic bands in the mail yesterday, and last night I dreamt we took the bus from Coronado Springs to MK in time to be in line for rope drop, but when we got there we realized we left our magic bands in the hotel room! So I went back with the kids, and got ours, but forgot my husbands, and then he had to go back. It was a mess. Just a silly dream.

But now of course I'm nervous about forgetting our magic bands! So do you leave then on your whole trip- through showers, Swimming and sleeping? Or do you just remember to put them on before each park/restaurant visit?
Absolutely not. I don't need the mind police tracking my dreams.

just kidding.

Nope! We've had 2 conventions to ensure we don't forget: EITHER 1) as soon as we walk into our DVC room there's a little shelf across from the door -- we all place them there. It's right near where we leave our shoes, so very hard to leave without seeing them. OR 2) I clasp them around the strap of my purse -- no way I leave the room without my purse -- ever! :)

Worst case if they're forgotten: we've gotten a new plastic card issued when DS forgot his band in the room once. My sister lost hers once in the park and got a replacement band at guest services. Regardless, it won't ruin your day even if they are forgotten in the room. :)

I take mine off the second I get into my resort room and do not put it back on until we head back out to the parks. Can't imagine sleeping in it.

I can't sleep with any jewelry on but my wedding ring. No fitbit, no earrings, no jewelry.

I've always put my magic band on the table in the room along with anything else I'm bringing into the park that day. I usually put everything in the front pocket of my backpack the night before except for one bottle of water that is in the fridge, my magic band and my phone that usually needs to be charged.

Since I've started doing that, I've not forgotten anything.

We only take them off to shower and sleep. There's no reason to take them off while swimming, and you'll need them to get through pool security gates anyway. You'll see most people in the pool wearing their MBs. Disney's MB FAQ says it's perfectly ok to swim with your MB on.

Your wrist isn't your hand. Also, at WDW I assure you, you're filthy with the planet-wide germs of visitors and their children at all times, anyway.
