Do you shop on Black Friday?

I never have. I may go out to one store this year. Fighting the masses just doesn't appeal to me at all! If you do it - what makes you go each year?

Yep we go every year!! We love it! Get up at 5 a.m. first we go to McRaes for the Crackerjack sale. You get a box of Crackerjacks and you win % off or a gift certificate. DH won a $100 last year.

Then its to J.C. Pennys to get the ornament. I won a $100 GC a few years ago.

Then to Stein Mart where they give out little cheap wallets and some have GC in them. I think we've all won $10 here and there.

Then its to Shoney's to eat the breakfast bar.

Then we go back and actually shop. Its usually around 8:00 by then....LOL!

This year I'm hitting Wal-Mart to try and get a trampoline for J.C.

I shop from the comfort of the chair I'm sitting in, via the internet. No lines, no pushy shoppers and no long ride home.

I usually go just for the freebies and maybe a couple of items. Shop at a store that price matches so I don't have to go to much.

Always done about 9 or 10am.

Actually last time I went out on Black Friday was during the FURBY craze . . .how absolutely pointless it was to get myself up out of bed at 3:30 a.m. and stand in line at Toys R Us to be disappointed. I should of known better.

I vowed from that day forward I would never ever get up out of bed on Black Friday to go hunting any bargains at all. The weird thing about standing in line that one year is that NOBODY spoke to anyone . . .it was a strange eerie silence . . .they all were there for the same thing just like in the movie Jingle All The Way. Very very scary indeed.

Yes! I always do. There has only been two years since I was 18 that I didn't go. One I volunteered to work and two my daughter was in the hospital. I hate crowds, but I love shopping the day after Thanksgiving!

DD and I have been going for about 5 years now. We start out early in the morning and shop til we drop. This year we are having Thanksgiving at her house and I am staying the night. So we will be formulated our battle plan the evening before.

DH is working that day, I have it off. So it will be cleaning day followed hopefully by Christmas with the Kranks

AHHHHH the memories...

I used to get up at 5Am and be IN the line at Walmart when they open at 6AM!!!

However, this year... ...I have to BE at work at 6AM! I work retail, which is ok, because I am going to BE at the mall and I am going to be handing out Candy Canes and stuff for our customers

I don't know, I used to HATE working the holiday season, but this year? I don't know what bit me, but I got the fever for the holidays BAAAAAD!!!!!!

Every year..it is a family tradition to go out at 6am or so...but not this year, we will be at WDW. However, my kids are going out shopping so they said, so family tradition will go on...

Normal work day for us. The joys of being self employed, no such thing as a "paid" holiday.

Yep...my SIl and I used to go when the kids were small. First stop was always KB Toys. I would get in line and she would shop and hand everyting to me. Then it was on to Hills when they were still open (I miss that store big time). She would head off to work and I would go to the mall. Usually got home by noon. Now the girls go with me and we don't go as early...we still hit the mall and we go out to breakfast. Last year DH got up and went early with me to Circuit City, we bought a computer. Then we went to Target and got some things. He's already asking how early we will be going out this year. I told him it all depends on the sales. I'm hoping to get all my shopping done (or most of it) in that one day.

I am already finished my shopping by Black Friday but I still go out. I take my mom and hang out at the mall and enjoy the atmosphere. It is great listening to the holiday music while watching all the desperate shoppers hunting for the bargains. When we get our fill we go out to lunch. Black Friday gets me in the spirit!

No way. There's some other thread about people lining up at Best Buy at 3am! Maybe if they were giving away a big screen tv for free I would go out in the middle of the night and stand in the cold. Maybe.

Nope, I've been in retail too long. I'm working. I'll watch the crazed hordes standing outside the store waiting to get in and running each other over when they do. THIS year, though, I'll be behind the scenes instead of at the registers.
