I swear, since my dad passed away, I have "seen" him at least a dozen times out and about (grocery store, restaurant, parking lot, etc). Does this ever happen to you where you find out someone has died and you SWEAR you have seen that person?! I'm not talking ghosts, but people who look just like that person for a fleeting moment.

It's sad, really. I stared at this man in a truck for a good twenty seconds because he reminded me just of my dad. What I wouldn't do to see his smile again....

I see similarities in people that remind me of my father. I would think, that looks like my Pop. Of course, it wasn't. But it does flicker in your brain for that second.

no. but I see former NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer all over the place

i don't see anyone, but i often smell cigarette smoke in my home, and it makes me wonder if perhaps my beloved paw-paw or my uncle may be lurking. you see, i am allergic to cigarette smoke, and we built our house ourselves from the ground up. this house has NEVER been smoked in, but i still smell it. both paw-paw and uncle were heavy smokers.
oh, and one night, about a month ago, i was lying in bed, and our master bedroom has it's own bathroom with a ceiling fan, and i'd only been in bed maybe 15 minutes, when i heard one of the pull chains to the ceiling fan hit one of the globes on the fan's light fixture. REALLY HARD. freaked me out. DD was asleep in her own room at the front of the house (our bedroom is in the back) and DH was at work.

I have the same thing happen to me. I believe, in my heart, that they are people who love me passing by. It may not be them in body but; there is a reason we get the sense of awareness.

This is actually happened to me the other day. The anniversary of his death is coming up in July, it will be 7 years. I could have sworn I saw him walking down the lead street coming into the housing development. this guy had his walk and grey hair, same build.

I recall soon after he passed away, I used to do that alot. it sounds crazy, but he used to ride the scooter in the grocery store after he got was diagnosed with lung cancer and had oxygen. i was in the same store and i heard the scooter coming around the corner and I was so expecting to see him.

I miss him every day.

Yes. I have seen my "dad" out and about on occasion. The most striking was one day at Sam's. It was very strange.

From time to time we will smell smoke and say hello to my grandmother.

Yes. I see my cousins dead husband every now and again. I would hate for her to ever visit and run into this guy but he is a dead ringer for Chuck. I stop dead in my tracks and turn real white every time I see him.

I agree with others, I don't necessarily "see" my son that passed away but I hear him and at times can feel him near me or as if I was pregnant with him again. I've "heard" him breathing, coming up the stairs, and often have smells associated with him. There are a lot of wierd "coincidences" and have even had my son evaluated. At one time they thought he was hallucinating since he "saw" him, even though he didn't know him. Now my younger son has had "experiences". My kids are 12 & 6 and still struggle with fear due to this. I know a lot of people have a hard time understanding this but others I know who have especially lost children have the same exact situation. At least I know it's not me.

I see my father's look-alikes once in a while, to the point where I've had to do a double take.

you guys are freaking me the hell out:eek:

I distinctly remember a time when I was in a parking lot after shopping at Marshalls and saw the mother of one of my friends she was being helped by someone unknown to walk. I was in a hurry and did not go up to her and say hello. Then for some strange reason I said to myself so and so just died. I don't know why! When I got home my cousin called me she said "so and so's mother died" I flipped out and said do not tell me the time let me tell you. It was the same time I " saw" her in the parking lot.

Another time when I worked in a grocery store my sister's friend who had cancer used to come in and every time she did she would stop and talk. I saw her come in and walk to the back of the store I waited for her to come to the front to say hi as usual. She never did....you guessed it, when I got home my sister called me and told me she had died. Again, I said do not tell me the time let me tell you.

You might thinK I freaked out but honestly I have things like this happen to me all the time....I guess I DO see dead people. I know I sound like a nut but honestly I am NOT. I am just about the most conservative run of the mill person one would ever meet! I just have people who die come to me in a variety of ways but only right after they die. I tell them to move on because they cannot stay and that's that!

Ok this will weird some of you, but the day my DF passed away, he was truly upset about having to leave DD and myself. I told him you can look in on us at any time, just don't you know freak me out, no letting me see you, because it will freak me the heck out.

But there have been a few times that things were amiss and even one time i told my neighbor/friend about it and he knew my DF and he said, um, that was your DF doing that.:scared1::rotfl2:

as long as he doesn't show up in front of my eyes, i'm good. now I do dream about him especially if i feel stressed. pretty much the same type dream: a storm or hurricane is coming and he is here and looks great, no cancer and he helps me through it and then he tells me he has to go.

Sometimes an older person will walk by with my mothers fragrance or someone in the distance will look like her and it takes my breath away every time.

I would think if you had good relationship it might bring comfort someday, I hope so for your sake it dose:flower3:

On the other hand, my DM not a really great person. I am going to have the house blessed when she passes, she is someone I could see as not having peace after she passes. and I am very serious. no getting to haunt me in the after life, this life is enough.

I see dead people in my pictures of the restoration of this old house of ours want to see go to Harmony Manor Restoration Project on fb. On one picture of the front yard you can see a 3 full body orbs. We hear footsteps on the stairs, thumps like something fell over and hit the floor, the lights go on and off by themselves. All kinds of stuff.

Nope had a professional do it. We ripped out all the old wireing and started over fresh cause apparently the previous owner tried to burn it down for the insurance money.

Wow - Great stories! When he was little, my DS used to see people and situations that grownups couldn't see. When he was 5, about 8 months after my GM died, I was food shopping with him. All of a sudden, he starts talking about Gramma this and Gramma that (he'd only seen her twice). Then he starts asking about how old she'd be if she was still alive. I responded 81, but that we don't really keep track of birthdays once someone dies. He stops walking, puts his hands on his hips, and announces at the top of his voice, "But it's STILL her birthday!" My GM would never forgive people if they forgot her birthday, and when he said that, I stopped and realized that it WAS her actual birthday -- she wouldn't let me forget! (and I always remember now!)

The only dead people I see are the commuters on my 5:30 a.m. train every morning.
