We were at 6 flags in Dallas this weekend and dd9 backed out of both superman (up and down ride) and batman rides (rollercoaster). I told it was okay since even her daddy doesn't ride them. "I'm stupid,"she tells me. Now to tell the truth I don't much like them but was willing to go on for her. She loves the children thrill rides but is too tall for them (at 9, she about 4'10).

It didn't help that the ride attendents got such a attiude about. I had her buckled in and was about to buckle myself when I saw her face. She was quiet but such a look of terror and tears. I told the attendent to let us off right now. He actually didn't want to! I said Right now. She doesn't want to ride. I'm usually not pushy except when it comes to my kiddies.

Another thing, I noticed a lot of small details and kept telling dh that WDW would keep this up better (peeling paint) and pay more attention to the small details. Also there were too many carnival games (where you pay and try to win a prize).

I love Roller Coasters. I just don't like anything that spins me around and around! Blech.

Don't feel bad. My DH doesn't ride them either even when I am chomping at the bit to go.

The Superman Tower of Power is quite scary. I've ridden it one time but will probably ride it again if we ever go any time soon.

Over the weekend, we went to a town carnival and I rode what was probably the scariest ride of my entire life.

It looked kind of like a ferriswheel but the cars were eggshaped and enclosed in a metal mesh thingie. The lapbar didn't hold me down very well and the car spun around in both directions (foward and back) very, very quickly. I almost threw up on the ride op when I got off because I was the only one riding and it seemed to me like he made it go that much faster because nobody else would dare get on.

Yes. "The Beast" at Paramount Kings Island is my favorite. The thing gave me a bad headache last time, but I'll be back next year.

I LOVE roller coasters. My favorite park is Cedar Point and we haven't been there in 5 years. I'm hoping to go back next summer. I will ride anything (except water rides). I won't usually wait in a really long line though if it's hot. I missed Son of Beast and Face/Off (is that the right name) at King's Island because the lines were atrocious. My son really likes kiddy rides/roller coasters, so I'm hoping he'll grow into a coaster enthusiast like me.

ETA: I don't think anyone should be forced to go on something they don't want to. I can't believe the workers gave you a hard time about that.

I loved the Beast too, but my husband and friend both hated it. They said it gave them a headache too. Didn't bother me though.

SnowAngel--I have to agree with you about the peeling paint and the amount of stupid carnival games at SFOT. I know when I was growing up there weren't that many and it didn't look so bad. Or at least I don't REMEMBER it looking as bad as it does now.

They did have a cute Spongbob 3-d simulator which was cute. But still the deco on the outside didn't have detail. Just some pop-ups, etc and peeling paint.
