Do you reuse your Magic Bands or get new ones?

Get the fob and clip the new puck to a belt loop. Use old style on wrist for rides/FP and then the puck will pick up ride photos!

I get new ones. I think it's fun to pick a new color and also I find the bands do fade (I'm guessing from chlorine in the pools or the sun.) Plus I've heard the batteries will die over time, and since I have no idea how long that would take, I'd rather not find out when I'm trying to enter a park or pay for an item.

We still are working on getting all the colors for the new style bands. I have a 2014 Olaf christmas one that's 3 years old and still works fine for ride photos. I wonder if anyone has had a MB where the long range battery has died.

I love getting new bands. If I string al of my family's bands together, they make a chain 12 feet long. I also wear old ones in the parks - depending on mood.

I tried to reuse mine but the people at the hotel told me it couldn't be done. (All star music 2 years ago)

Given that I have something like 15 from 2013 on and I use them interchangeably, they were wrong.

Unless you made that reservation using a different MDE and therefore the bands for the previous trips weren't linked to the same "you" from the other trips.

I have an AP, go at least twice a year and each of those trips is usually a split stay so I had a lot of them. I actually had two of each color of the old ones. I deactivated the older ones of every color and trashed them and started declining new ones. Now that they have changed the style, I did get two of the new ones last trip, again a split stay. The only reason I got the two was because I put one of the pucks in a carabiner and the other one in a band for those days I don't have belt loops to hook the carabiner on. I accidentally got one gray one and ordered a purple one. Worked out, I stuck the purple puck in the carabiner and put the gray puck in the purple band. I'll use those on my next trip since I'm staying at the Dolphin and you don't get MBs there.

That's a great idea! Putting it around a belt loop should work. I don't remember the height of most readers, but I wonder if I could even touch readers while the puck is at belt level. Worst case, I could throw the puck into a pocket or sackpack for the ride photos.

Yes to both.

We get new ones with each trip and I decorate them! It's something fun to do! These are ours from our last two trips. I'd like to put them in a shadow box with other trinkets from each trip! It's a slow moving plan! Lol!

We go every two years or so, so we get new ones. My sisters usually does a craft of some sort with my old bands. Last year it was a Christmas ornament and the year before it was part of a shadowbox.

I do have several bands of various colors. I did get the new style on my last trip in May. But the bands I use all the time are the Star Wars ones I've purchased. I may have to think of something clever to do with the ones I don't use any more.

Our old ones are the old style so I'll get new ones. I could only locate 3 of our 4old ones anyway
