YES! I remember almost all of it! Especially hitting the TV. Our picture would shrink down to a strip in the middle of the screen. We would bang on the top and the picture would pop back out to full size. Do you remember when popular characters at MK were the Three Little Pigs, Pinnochio etc.?

Do you remember...
Kookla, Fran and Ollie
H.R. Puffinstuff
The Hair Bears
Roller skating to the Bay City Rollers S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night! :cool1:

OMG I forgot about hitting the tv when the picture shrank to a line:lmao:
Loved Rin Tin Tin and Sky King, Our Miss Brooks and My Little Margie

When my dad finished building our house (all by himself on weekends and evenings) we didn't have a refrigerator yet but the milk man would stop back after his deliveries and leave us blocks of ice for our ice box.

Most of our dishes came out of the soap box, movie theater, or from the bank.

Our set of encyclopedias were purchased a volume a week from the
A&P.
Egg creams were something you drank not eaten from the Cadbury box.
Shopping for clothes at Robert Hall
The nuns made you kneel on the floor to check your skirt lengths and stuck gum across you nose if you were caught chewing.
Popeye colorforms
Petti-pants, garterbelts, girdles and training bras (what I was training for I don't know):rotfl:
TV only had three channels, and they played the Star Spangled Banner just before the test pattern came on.
The Early Show, The Late Show and The Late,Late Show on weekends.
Suicide knobs on the steering wheel so your boyfriend could drive and still keep his arm around you.
Our family doctor always made house calls if you were deemed too sick to go into the office or any emergency.

Oh, that's right, I don't actually remember any of these personally.:rolleyes1

Funk & Wagnel's encyclopedias from the A&P! I still have that set downstairs in the crawl space. BTW, do you have the "Year in Review" issues?

Farrah:woohoo: I remember seeing that poster in everyshop on the NJ boardwalk!

Plutospup - Don't have the "Year in Review" volume, I guess my mom was too busy trying to figure out which completer pieces she wanted to match the dishes she bought plate by plate. Do you remember the Spanish Bar Cake that could only be bought at the A&P? Awesome-I've spent 40 years trying to find another raisin spice cake that compares and it doesn't exist:confused3

I definitely remember that scandalous poster in every shop on the boards. Do you remember seeing the diving horse at the Steele Pier?:cool2:

Geesh, I remember all of it, even the horse at the steel pier but forget the last time ate.:confused3

Do you remember seeing the diving horse at the Steele Pier?:cool2:

I loved the diving horse! The Steel Pier was quite the place. There was a diving bell that would take you underwater. I remember the movie theater there, too.

1962. President John F. Kennedy informs the world of secret offensive missile bases in Cuba.

1967. Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" album was released.

The assassination of John F. Kennedy, Friday, November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 p.m.

Neil Armstrong ,the first person to set foot on the Moon.

Yes! What about Captain Cave Man?

I am on a Roller Derby League and I STILL skate to the Bay City Rollers sometimes :lmao:

:rotfl2: That is hilarious! I am almost screaming with laughter!... No, wait, I AM screaming with laughter!...and YES I DO REMEMBER CAPTAIN CAAAAVEMAN! You are only about the 3rd person I have found who remember the BCR. I haven't been on skates in about ten yrs. You have inspired me!:woohoo:
Do you remember...
Watching first run episodes of Happy Days and Donnie and Marie.
(I still remember watching Sonny and Cher)
Chicago 17
Purple Rain (I can't believe I just publicly admitted that!)

Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, Quick Draw McGraw, Top Cat, Yogi Bear by Jimney I could go on and on.

Wow! You had encyclopedias! We had a milkman too! I remember using old jelly jars (the ones with the pop off lids w/no threads) as drinking glasses. I easily remember the three channels and the days before the remote control (we were dad's remote!). Do you remember the American Indian that used to cry while looking out over the pollution? Smokey the Bear?

Do you remember your first pair of PF Flyers ? With a pair of Flyers you could "Run faster and Jump higher".

Remember sitt'n along the street curb onna HOT summer day with your best friend hold'n a chocolate popcycle and try'n to eat it before it melted all over your hand . AND the popcycles only cost .05 cents each.

How bout when ALL the neighborhood kids got together after dark to play "ally ally in free/Ally Ally Oxen Free!/ hide 'n seek" and you'd better darn well have better know'n where the clotheslines were !:rotfl2:
Ya remember that Larry, thats right, even when you were young people would torture trees with clotheslines !
In those days, if ya saw someone runn'n thru your back yard screaming in the dark and being chased, it was local kids playing and no one ever gave it a second thought.
