Do you remember your first ever character meal?

jan 1989
chef mickeys with my gram
i still have the pics we were staying at the Contemp. we had a tower room
it was amazing the food was really good
and i have a great an awesome pic with me and the white rabbit

Our first Character Breakfast was at the Empress Lilly in 1984. DS was only 2. The Empress Lilly was docked right where it is today, however it was located in a FOREST!!! (OK...right next to the forest...it was still in the lake  ) It was so beautiful back then, so quiet and peaceful. DTD was just a plan in someone's imagination then. Disney Marketplace was probably less than 1/2 the size it is today...no PI, no Rainforest Cafe, etc.

Sometimes as I'm fighting the crowds in DTD today, I think back and remember how it was!

OH wow it was like 1986 I think.. I was about 8... it was at the Empress Lilly, which I believe is now Fulton's Crab House in DTD. I don't remember the food much, just the characters and the boat!

It was the day we were leaving on our first trip to Disney together as man and wife. It was at the Contemporary in 1993, not what the CB there is now. The Contemporary has changed a lot since then.

It was a great way to leave Disney.

will never forget my first time!!!!!!!

kids were 5 and 4 at the time. rain was pouring down prior to and DS was crying to go home..we ducked into mgm for our first character breakfast..kids were drenched in their strollers.
Once pocohantos and the cast came out, they all came alive.
food was pretty decent as welll..

so memorable, and when we left sun was shining and it was a picture perfect day

HMMMM, always wanted to go there back then, but my parents weren't interested. PI was just a gleam in some Imagineer's eye back then. Captain Jacks was there. Chef Mickey's was actually a restaurant located where Rainforest Cafe is now. The buildings housing World of Memories, Pooh Corner. The Pin Station and Summer Sands are all the original buildings.
When they started having Guest Services (now Guest Relations) it was located where the TV area is in Captain Jacks (and everyone thinks the Guest Relations lobby is cramped now)! There was no Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, Lego or McDonald's, oh and now INTERACTIVE FOUNTAINS... (the horror!!!!) either. It was truly "way out there" from what was considered Walt Disney World then! I don't even remember if there was bus transportation at that time.

First character breakfast was around November 1988 at Cape May Cafe, Beach Club. DS had his picture taken with Pluto, and it became our Christmas card that year. Motivated several other family members.
