Do you remember these stores?

Not sure if this was a local thing around Chicago, but how about

Goldblatts

and

Wiebolts

Also, how about Montgomery Wards

Boy Blondie (and the rest of you), I am feeling reeeeeeeally old right at the moment! :teeth:

Anyone remember Wild Cherry???? They were around in the mid/late 70s and had disco music playing all day and all night.

How did I miss Gimbels? I worked there for a few months right out of high school!

What ever happened to Hess Dept. Store?

Kinney Shoes - Mom bought all my shoes at Kinney's when I was little

Robert Hall Stores - Vendors of cheap polyester suits.

Fedmart

Globe

Battlestein's

Highlands Electronics

Natural Wonders

Warner Brothers Store

K-Mart (in Texas)

Gallagher Steak Houses

I remember Marianne's and Phar-Mor. Is Lady Bug actually Fashion Bug?? I remember that one.

What about Lechmere? Anyone remember that?

How about Tello's? They were big in the Boston area in the 80's.

I loved Woolworth's, especially the large one that was in downtown Boston. And the The Magic Pan, I had my first high school date there.

Chess King = Satan's dominion. Puffy clothes, shiny shirts and super skinny piano key ties. Yeesh!

And yes, I did have a Member's Only jacket back in the day, when I was in high school. Then again, I had worn a lot of things back then that I look at in pictures and say, what in God's name was I thinking? Why did anyone let me outside like that? Aah, the 80's.

Gosh! I hope most of these stores are still in business!! I never even noticed that many of them have left our local mall!!

How about:

Kiddie City

Kings

Bradlees

:teeth:

Remember the toy store Children's Palace?

Kiddie City! I remember that one! We also had a toy store called Baby Town.

Ditto! I was (and still am, to a degree) into the Hair Metal look in the late '80's with the HUGE bouffant bangs, skin tight acid jeans with the obligatory ripped knees and hightop Reebok "princess' shoes.

There was a store in our area called "The $7 Store". Everything was only $7 or less, and it was really cool, well made merchandise. I think I cried the day THAT one closed.

TOV

Blondie we had Atlantic Thrift here too. It originally opened as Atlantic Mills.:D

Shopper's World

Neisner's

Gore & Kaye's

Turnstyle's

Bargain Town
