Do you regularly pay ATM fees?

I avoid ATM fees like the plague. I refuse to use any machine that is not owned by my bank unless I absolutely have no other choice. I know the fees are minimal, but I figure the money I don't spend on those fees are better in my wallet than the bank's balance sheet.

OTOH, my friend will use any ATM, regardless of the fees he incurs.

I use a debit card to avoid having to pay fees when i don't have cash on me. I can go to a store, but something and even get cash back without a fee. It's like a credit card except the money is deducted then and there. I haven't used an ATM in 17 years and I love it!

No!!! Our bank doesn't charge any. We try to use their ATMs or our regional convenience store's ATM because they don't charge a fee. If we need cash and are buying something and use our ATM card we get cash back.

With a debit card, if I need cash all of a sudden (which is rare) I can just walk into a grocery store, but a pack of gum, and get cash back. No reason to pay fees.

I can't even remember the last time we used an ATM to get cash out.

no I never pay atm fees. I always either get money before I go some where or I know where the branches are to stop so I do not get charged. But I worked for a bank so I knew where the branches were anyways. So it made it easier for me. I do not want to give my money to the bank!! I even try to look for the bank that does not have maintenance fees because I hate those too!!

The only exception, is if I am traveling. I try to get enough out ahead of time, but sometimes I need more, or my paycheck gets direct deposited in the middle of a vacation etc. I do always make it worth it though. I get three hundred out or so. I refuse to pay fees for a small cash withdrawl.

Nope - virtually all of the banks here let you use any of their cash machines for free, regardless of who you bank with. It's called "Link". I have never paid a single penny to access my money in the UK or Europe - it is only in the US where I get charged $2 or whatever (my bank doesn't charge me a fee to use ATMs abroad). Charging for ATM use is very much an American trait.

Nope. My Credit Union does not charge any fees (for anything..inc Online banking... ) and the closest ATM to my house in in a WAWA's & their ATM's dont charge a fee.

My credit union refunds one ATM fee per week. It really helps while travelling.

I refuse to pay fees when I am around town. The only time I will is if I am on vacation and need more cash than I thought. But even then, I try to go to my bank or somewhere that doesn't charge me a fee.

I voted other because my answer is not regularly, only in a rare pinch. Like last June I thought I brought enough cash with me to WDW but ran short. I was with friends and we were paying cash for our joint meals. So I used an ATM at AKL and paid the fee ($2 or $3 I think).

My bank has branches all OVER the place, even in other states. I never have to go far to find one.

My bank is very common but it seems like I can't ever find one when I'm in a new area and I need money. Except that I will usually find one right AFTER I go to another bank and pay the fee. I hate these silly fees though and try to avoid paying them.

No fees from our bank, and being in the chicago metro area there are many ATMs from our bank so we do not have to use any other bank's. And pay their fees.
