Do you recommend EMH at AK?

We're vacationing in Sept and have avoided the parks on EMHs days. But, we have one day at AK planned and that day now has EVENING EMHs. I don't really care about getting the extra hours, I'm more concerned about the crowd levels.

What would you do? Change the plans to a non-EMH, a morning EMH, or leave as is with an evening EMH?

Btw - we like to get to the park when it opens, do the popular rides, then TAKE OUR TIME - we strole through the trails, play in the boneyard play area (for like an hour!!!!), etc. We spend one whole day at AK, but it's a non-rushed day. I'm just concerned about the effect of the evening EMH (MGM has a morning EMH the same day - will that lessen the AK crowd? ). Oh, we are not doing the MYW dining plan and we are AP holders so park hopping is an option, but I like having one "main" park planned per day and then "hop" LATE in day if wanted.

I would have already made a change, except I REALLY lke our itinerary and our ADRs. We have Donald's Breakfastosaurus on the schedule for the AK EVENING EMH day at 8:00 AM (which puts us IN the park before it opens!!!).

I know we're all just guessing at the point, but I'm really wondering what you guys would plan to do. Thank you so much for any comments.

When we were there in mid-May, AK evening EMH was great. The park was somewhat crowded in the afternoon, but after the afternoon parade it seemed that alot of the crowd left and during evening EMH everything was a walk on. In comparison, MK evening EMH was very crowded, wait times almost triple from earlier in the evening. MGM was almost as bad, and we didn't even attempt Epcot evening EMH.

We visited AK several times during our 10-day trip in late May (stayed at AKL, so AK was convenient for short visits). We found AK to be very busy on EMH days. In fact, we will avoid AK on morning EMH day.

We were also surprised by how little there is to do during the evening EMH!! That being said, we still LOVED our evening visit. We noticed so much more of the theming details at night. It's nice to just walk around and look at everything.
