I am so happy that I got a 2-br for WLV for 12/24 and 12/25 today. Completely unexpected. Exactly what I wanted, WLV, dedicated 2-br. However, I tried to get the AP rate for 12/26 and 12/27 and the only thing available at WLV is for studios.

I thought about using my pts, but it is 106 pts per night!!!!!! I just can't bear the thought of using 212 pts for 2 nights.

Do you just bite the bullet and stay through the weekend during the holiday time?!!!

Yeah... That's pretty rich, for two nights. These holiday point rates are pretty crazy.

We're not likely to go to WDW during a peak seasons. If we every planned that, we'd probably do a combo point/cash stay.

Yeah, that's a lot of points. Even during the summer months it's still 75 points per weekend night for a 2BR.

I don't think I'd ever spend 212 points for two nights, but then again, I don't see us being at WDW during that week in the future. I don't like to switch accommodations during a stay, but that might just do it!

Hey, it could be worse....a BWV Grand Villa would be 316 points for those two nights!!!

I guess it is like supply and demand - probably everyone would want to go over the weekend during the holiday, but with point prices like that, most of us don't want to after all. So the point costs serve their purpose - to rich for my blood, but somebody probably plans it that way.

Well, I'll be at WDW Dec. 26-Jan. 4, which includes 2 weekends. The first weekend I'm staying at the Dolphin solo until the rest of my group arrives. Then we'll be in a BWV 2 BR, but the second weekend falls in the very beginning of January. Plus we got a standard, so that weekend will be 102 pts. total which is reasonable I think.

I'd have to swallow pretty hard to shell out 212 pts. for 2 nights. That would use up almost two thirds of my yearly points for just 2 nights. :( A little steep for me, unless I had no choice for some reason. JHMO. :D

We've done Christmas/NYE 3 times, all on points, all in a 2 bedroom at OKW.

We arrived anywhere from 12/19 - 12/22 and left around 1/3 - 1/4.

Between banking and borrowing, we've always worked it out. The holidays are busy enough without having to change rooms for two nights.

Regina, I can see if you look at it as a week and average it out, it is not as bad as if we only have 4 nights and 2 are weekends.

I was surprised yesterday when I was checking on the availability, I can get a 2-br for both 12/24 and 12/25 at either BWV or WLV, however, OKW only has 12/25. We will be at OKW in less than a week and are really looking forward to it:D

This year we are staying at WDW for two weeks between Christmas and New Year's except for those big point nights. For those we head over to Universal and the Hard Rock Hotel. We like to make more than one trip per year and those 100 + point nights would get in the way.

Next year will be an issue for a lot of people because Christmas Eve and New Yea's Eve are both on a Friday night which will mean a lot of DVC points for the holidays. Usually there is only one weekend of big point nights. Next year there will be two.

Lat...that is exactly why we are moving to the Dolphin from our 2 bdrm BWV for the weekend between Christmas and New Years...and we decided to stay 3 nights so the move wouldn't seemed too rushed. I'm also using points at the Dolphin so it isn't any cash out of pocket for those rooms either...

106 points is way to rich for my blood..
