If so, what kind is it? I'm wanting to find one that takes the picture pretty quick. I have an older Kodak 3600 and it takes too long to shoot the pictures. Drives me insane!!!!! I want a better one for my upcoming trip. Suggestions appreciated.

I have a HP 635 and I love it. This one, too, takes too long to finish taking the picture but, other than that, it is a good starter camera. I have tried changing the setting and I cannot make it snap any faster. **sigh** But, when I took it to WDW in Sept, I discovered the night feature and it takes fantastic pics in a dark area!! I will watch and see what suggestions you get for next step up cameras. Good thread.....

Thanks. I figured with all the people out there with digital cameras, what a better way than to ask the people that already have them!!! I could search online for hours upon hours and still n ot find the info I want!! Shutter speed, I guess it is called.

We have 2 cannon ones....(my DH just had to have another camera  ) the older one is a A40 . It takes really great pics and I really like it. it is also simpler......Well he got the Powershot S1 15 and I really didn't think that there would be much of a difference....HOlycow!!!!!!!!! There is...it is amazing!

Good luck!

I have several digital cameras and I love them all. No worries about taking a picture. I can see instantly if it turned out. I take a lot more pictures now than I did with a film camera.

My camera is way too slow, too so I'm glad you started this thread. Maybe some great suggestions will come up!:D

I have two Digital cameras and I love them both! The first one is a Fuji Finepix S602 Zoom and it takes excellent pictures! The other one I have is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC T-1 and I love this one because it is the size of a credit card!! It is so easy to take anywhere and on anything!! :)

We have two digital cameras in our house. The first is my Canon 10-D... talk about being in *love* with a camera!!!! Oh I could drool over that one! Takes and excellent shot and rather quick. However, I wouldn't recommend it for everyone as it is a digital SLR. I have had 2 other Canons previously (worked my way up with them) and really loved them! They seem to be one of my cameras of choice.
My husband has an Olympus 8080. I like it okay... takes a great shot and good with the level of "noise" in the picture. Fast to save, but a bit on the slow end to focus.

I say go out and play with the cameras at the store and have fun :teeth:

i have a sony mavica fd-92 and our new one is a cannon Powershot S1 15 and its a great camera, takes incredible pics and unlimited video.

I have a sony dsc t-1 as well. Just purchased it about a month ago! It's a great camara! Pictures and movies come out great!

I don't like the delay on digital camera's aswell. But I like the way the Canon-A80 handles this situation. You hold down the button half-way, it focuses, then, you hit the button the last halfway, and it snaps instantly. By the way, I really love my digital camera. Check out the Canon Powershot a80 at stores and see if you like the way it shoots. The pics turn out great, its 4mp and it has all the manual features ect.

I just got the new Canon Powershot A85 and LOVE it! It was a replacement for an older model, that I also loved. DH has the Sony, I think the P73, with him and it does great too. I burn what he sends us, then I get prints made of them. I plan to compare the prints from his and mine soon. I don't think you can go wrong with Canon or Sony. Just get the mp, optical zoom, and features that you want.:D ladycollector is right about dealing with the Canon delay. Not sure about DH's Sony.

We have an Olympus D560 and hate it. I'm not good with technology so it's not an easy camera for me. We had an Fuji 230 finepix which was nice and easy. But on our WDW trip in 2003 my daughter dropped it and the lens broke.

I just purchased a Nikcon Coolpix 3200 a few months ago. I used it on my recent Disney trip. I really like it. It took a bit of practice to figure out the different settings (portrait, landscape, etc.) The pictures come out really nice. I tend to use the "sports" setting quite a bit to get moving shots. It's an excellent "starter" camera. It is also easy to download pictures to your computer (comes with a cable).

Next time, I'll "advance" to the next level (the $500 range) and get one with more optical zoom and more sensitivity to darkness (for better night time shots).

All in all, I'm very happy with it. Also, it is very small. So it's quite easy to slip in a purse or pocket.

I love my Canon A70. It takes Great pictures.

I have a Canon 10D and a Canon G5...love them both. Film is dead.

I have a older Canon - the PowerShot G1. I think it might have been one of the first digital cameras they made. The pics are great, but it too suffers from slow focus and shutter speeds which drives me INSANE. We've also had some significant problems with battery drain - I've had to send it back to Canon a few times for repairs but it seems to be fixed now. I think if you're going to get a digital camera, then you need to also invest in a decent photo printer - THAT will make all the difference in the world!!!

I have a Nikon 995. It as been out of production for a number of years now. I keep looking at new ones, still looking for the perfect one, LOL. SLR's are too big, for the most part, for the way I like to use a camera, and the LCD screens are fixed. I like the rotating type, one of the great features I love about my camera, a split body, enabling me to get some pretty unique perspectives/views in pictures. Even some of the higher end, newer P&S's, like the Nikon 8800, see so big by what I am used to. So, for the moment, my dinosaur plugs along, and no help to you in your quest for a new one, LOL. Good luck.

LOVE my Canon S50. I swear I have yet to take a bad picture with the thing. :lovestruc
