Do you really like a restaurant that seems unpopular on the DIS?

Chef Mickey's for dinner and 50's Prime Time. Have to do both whenever we are in WDW. It's nice to see that there are folks out there that liked Donald's Breakfastasaurus and Liberty Tree Tavern. We are trying both of them this time and I was getting a little leary after seeing so many that didn't like them at all.

We like Chef Mickey's and the Polynesian Luau. Both have had good food, service and entertainment. We make it a point to go each time we come.

They aren't 5-star establishments, but we go there knowing that. I don't go into McDonald's expecting the meat to be Black Angus, so I don't go into those restaurants expecting gourmet meals.

They are good for the price and what they are intended to be.

I love the Rainforest Cafe--really! I like to eat there once per trip, or twice if it fits my schedule.
I agree...it's a "must-do" for us each trip. We have it scheduled twice for our trip in October...once just to have the "Volcano" dessert we never have room to eat after a full meal. :)

I read through all the posts, more and more surprised that not one person objected to the most maligned place in WDW, Nine Dragons....well I guess you have one in every crowd. On this last page ND finally gots its first supporter. At least no one else joined in its praise.

I walked out of that place once after sitting for tweny minutes without a waiter even saying "Herro". Another time was served a meal that was not as good as our local places and cost two or three times as much.

Sci Fi, 50's, Alfredos and LC are all favorites.

My favorite restaraunt at Disney World is the Sci Fi Dine in Theater and there are alot of people that don't seem to enjoy this place? This is my only "must do" restaraunt; absolutely love the theming... its great!

We LOVE Sci Fi!! On our first trip, we avoided it, as I had never read a single positive review of it in any guidebook! When we finally gave it a shot a few trips later, we were pleasantly surprised! I always stick to the burgers, though, just in case! LOL!. Actually, DH and I are going down in October with my parents & this is the ONLY restaurant that they INSTIST on going to!

We also love San Angel, and have dinner there every trip. Although, I must admit, I was a little disappointed with the food last year. Regardless, we'll be back in just a few months, so hopefully they'll make up for that last meal!

Sci Fi and 50's PTC are MUST dos for us, if only for the theming and for those killer milkshakes!!!!

Sci Fi = cookies and cream shake
50's = PB&J shake

YUMMY! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We also enjoyed Coral Reef the one time we ate there.

Biergarten and Pizzafari. Actually Biergarten's reviews haven't been too bad, but DIS dining still lists both of these as Bottom 10 resturaunts. Biergarten is DH's favorite by far. He spent 6 mos. in Germany in college, and this brings back memories. I like Pizzafari, food's OK, I especially love the theming.

RFC
Nine Dragons

The food is not what I would expect for the price at home, but everything tends to be overpriiced in WDW, so why should these places be any different?

Dh dislikes Chinese food, and enjoyed Nine Dragons.
On the other hand, I did not enjoy the food at CRT and CM, but they are a must do on our trip for the characters & atmosphere!

SAN ANGEL INN gets my vote. Food is always good and the atmosphere is cool. Kids and parents love it.

We seem to be in the minority of those who like Planet Hollywood.
We ate there our last visit and our food was good and the service was good. We plan on eating there on our Oct visit as well.
We also ate at Tony's last trip and we really enjoyed it. The food was very good, service was also very good.

we love planet hollywood, its never mentioned on any dis board but i love the atmosphere of this place...granted i havent been there since 98':( but it was exciting

I really enjoyed both Rain Forest Cafe and Whispering Canyon..we also had a fun time at Pizza Planet. Not the best pizza, but decent and the theming was fun!

We've been to Alfredo's more times than any other restaurant in WDW.

Me too! I love both the breakfast and the dinner!:D

We love Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time, even though I had to sing "I'm a Little Teapot".....ok, maybe I love BECAUSE I had to sing "I'm a Little Teapot"! :jester:

San Angel Inn
Donald's Breakfastsaurs
Pizza Planet
Pizzafari
Liberty Inn-yes the Libery Inn. They have hotdogs for my DS.

I love drinking the Beverly....

I loved Tony's Town Square last year, I had the bruschetta and the chicken parm and both were FABULOUS!
My husband and I are both part Italian, we live in Northern NJ which has tons of great Italian restaurants, so I think I know my Italian food, and this was to die for.
It always surprised me when people say the sauce was like Chef Boyadree b.c I can't even have one bite of that stuff, I depise it.
Maybe I got to TTS on a good day. LOL
I also really enjoyed the Luau which has 99% bad reviews. LOL. DH however hates it. ;)

DW and I love 'Ohana at the Polynesian. It isn't really unpopular on DIS, more that it seems to be a love it or hate it place. I read reviews about how wonderful a meal was there, then I read a review about dried meat, loud shouting and poor service. I chalk it up to diner expectations - but we're eating there our first night at WDW!

I never see to muct written about Olivias at Old Key West. Very good food never crowded and great atmosphere. We look forward to going there at least once on our couple of trips a year.
