Do you feel guilt?

I re-gift without shame.

Sure, usually only in a pinch.....DH requests I keep "throw down" gifts on hand, just in case :cool1:

I've been known to re-gift. Not often, but it has happened. :rolleyes1

I do, but only if I know the new recipient isn't associated with whomever gifted it to me.

no, I never even get anything good enough to bother anyone else with.

Same here... and yet when I posted about this exact thing happening last week, I received several replies who saw nothing wrong with it. Since the person couldn't use the items (being Jewish, and the plates were Santa ones), she kept it all in the same gift packaging and gave it out at our party last week. I thought it was very tacky, since the person who gave it was there too!

But, I don't see any reason to re-gift to another group of people. If I can't use it, maybe someone else can

Yes - if I have something that I know somebody else needs more than I do. A couple of years ago my ILs gave me a food processor (on the advice of my husband - ). I already had a really nice food processor, that my husband couldn't figure out how to use (not that he asked me or anything  ). Believing it to be non-functioning, he told his parents we could use one so that became my Christmas gift :sad2: .

Fortunately, my mom was there and her ancient food processor had conked out the day before so she really was in need of one - even the cheap model they got me would suffice. I blatantly re-gifted on the spot - less than 2 minutes after opening the thing. Shameless, I know!:rotfl:

I don't think that I ever have. I certainly wouldn't pass on garbage that I didn't want to one of my friends, though. I buy most gifts with that particular person in mind. I could see re-gifting something via a gift exchange or something though. I could certainly see passing on the gift in the food processor situation, though! :rotfl:

No never. Ignore that tag on the fruitcake I sent that reads: From Trisha.:rolleyes1

I have done occasionally, when it was something that wasn't my style, or was a duplicate, and I knew someone else who might use it. I only regift if it is nice enough that I might have considered buying it for them.

I don't regift but only because I have such a bad memory. I'd regift it to the original gifter and it would get ugly fast. Trust me. :sad2:

I wish my Dad's girlfriend would re-gift. Instead, when she doesn't like what I buy for her (which unfortunately is often), she just sends it back to me, saying she doesn't like it :confused3

Only if I know the person would really like the gift and I would have bought it for them. This tends to happen on a duplicate gift, usually a Disney item. On year I bought the 75th Mickey Monopoly and then got it as a gift, so I re-gifted it to my sister. I have been know to add a re-gift as an extra gift, but most times I donate it to a charity. It never goes back to the same group that I got it from and it must be a nice gift.

I just wouldn't feel right about regifting. If I receive something that I cannnot use, I'll donate it or give it to someone that can use it, but not as a replacement for buying them a gift.

My name is JunieJay and I'm a re-gifter. :sad2:

Seriously, though, its practical imo. My trash is someone else's treasure! :thumbsup2 I do refrain from re-gifting anything used or opened, or re-gifting something for the pure sake of re-gifting. But if I was given something that I personally don't care for but know someone else will, you betcha I re-gift!

My all time favorite tacky re-gifting happened to me at the baby shower for my oldest child. A friend from work gave me a diaper genie. She swore this thing was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I knew I wasn't going to use it -my house is very small and anything "extra" that takes up floor or counter space, etc., I don't need. So I took it back to Babies R Us. The woman opened the box to inspect it and OMG, when she opened it up we all about fell out from the smell. There in the bottom of the thing was a dirty diaper!!! Seeing how this friend who gave it to me had a kid who was about 3 or 4 years old and probably long since out of diapers, we can only imagine how long it had been sitting there. :scared1: I was so embarrassed. I grabbed the thing and ran out to the parking lot where I threw it in the dumpster. I never confronted her about it, but I really really wanted to.

Yes. I see nothing wrong with taking a nice gift tha I get that I really wouldn't use and giving it to someone I know would appreciate it more.

The key words are "nice gift".

I don't regift crap.

I have re-gifted on occasion, not often. I also, will only re-gift if I think the person would like it.
