Looks like I'm the only one who voted that I don't proof read so far. I admit to occasionally proof reading if I write a really long post - but in general I write like I'm speaking, so no proof reading.
I read it over pretty carefully before I post, especially if it's a new topic. If it's 3-word sentence response to a question, I obviously don't spend much time on it.
I don't run a spell check, but if I don't know how to spell word for sure, I usually open Word and try it out there first.
I proof read, sometimes 3 or 4 times. I also spell check, and if after all that I still miss something, I will edit and correct it.
Only problem is I'm no good at punctuation.
My computer has an interactive spell checker, so as I type the spelling is checked. I then look over it quickly for errors - like the infamous to, too, two and they're, their, there errors which the spell checker will not find. Then, after it is posted, I usually find an error anyway and have to edit
I review most posts, in varying degrees. Some posts I have made here have taken me several hours to compose, some secveral seconds. When I used to post picture posts here, I oten had to edit due to formatting problems. I will use Word or OE at times, and often use a Merriam-Webster popup dictionary.
I am really terrible at writing on all the message boards because I do it from work and need to do it fast. I don't often proof read and sometimes I am extremely shameful of how my posts turn out. Hopefully people get a laugh out of them sometimes!
Sometimes I do. Mostly I just ignore the obvious spelling errors like their and there and they're. I do those because my mom logs on the DIS often to search my posts because it makes her feel closer to me since I live 2 hours away. Hi mom!
