I just came back from being on the Dream for the first time and I just have to say that I prefer the Magic/Wonder class of ships over the Dream/Fantasy.

I've been the Magic once and the Wonder twice, so I might be a little biased towards the smaller ships because that I what I am more used to, but even with a little consideration, I think I like the layout of the older ships more. I still haven't been on the Fantasy, but I am going on the Magic again in October and honestly if someone asked me if I'd rather go on the Fantasy or the Magic (for the same itinerary) I'd choose the Magic.

Does anyone else prefer the older ships? Or are you opposite and prefer the newer ones?

There are definitely some things I prefer about the Dream class ships but the Magic is by far my favourite and I prefer smaller size ships in general.

While I like the MDA, Aquaduck, and mini-golf on the Fantasy, I prefer the shows and AP on the Wonder. We went to CC twice on the Wonder, so much better than the times we went there on the Fantasy.

I like the newer ships better. But I’m done with the same old same old cruises. When the next three ships comes out I will go back to the Caribbean. . So that means I will be cruising the wonder and magic.

Fantasy for us. We like Aquaduck (hate Aquadunk) and Mid Ship Detective Agency. Nemo's Reef is so much better than what's offered on the Magic. And we like Aqualab Splash Zone. We just like a little more space. We've been more crowded in the Atrium and various lounges on the Magic than we ever have on the Fantasy. I'm hoping when the new ships come out, the Fantasy will sail from NYC instead of the Magic!

Magic is our favorite. Fantasy is too big. Especially with lots of back & knee issues. Lol
4000 guests is too crowded for me as well.

Love all four. The Dream and Fantasy have some good points and only one disadvantage: the vibration problem on the Fantasy. But we've had far better service on the Magic and Wonder; love their smaller, more intimate feel; and prefer their itineraries, especially Alaska, Northern Europe, and Canada.

I'm all about the classic ships, love the different ports they travel to.
Been on The Fantasy 3 times and the Dream once, they are beautiful, but for me its all about the ports.

I love the classic ships more. My daughter loves the Dream class ships more. The classic ones are just more relaxing to me.

We've been on the Magic and Fantasy and we preferred the Magic for the size, restaurant shows, and more reserved adult areas, while our 8yo daughter preferred the Fantasy for the Aquaduck, Detective Agency, and larger kids club.

We've been on the Wonder, Fantasy, and Dream (twice) with a Dream and Fantasy trip booked. I can't vote on the above because I don't group them that way.

Here's the differences that stood out for me.

The Fantasy and the Dream have the mid-ship detective agency, which the kids enjoyed.
The Fantasy, Dream, and Magic (haven't been on it, but still) have the aqua duck that the kids loved.
Castaway Cay was far less crowded on the Wonder, which was nice.
The sports bar was nicer on the Wonder in my opinion, followed by the Dream, then the Fantasy.
The fitness center was awesome on the Wonder, okay on the Fantasy and last was the Dream.

But, I'd say overall, the Dream was probably my favorite ship, followed by the Wonder, then the Fantasy. Can't comment on the Magic since I haven't been on it yet.

The Magic and Wonder have better itineraries. We're tired of the poverty-stricken port towns in the Caribbean.

We've only accomplished 5 cruises and in doing so we've experienced the Wonder, the Magic, and the Dream. We have a Xmas cruise scheduled for the Fantasy. We liked the Magic however I was surprised that the size difference was apparent. The crew on the Magic were personable, friendly and so service oriented. So far our best experience overall - room, crew, spa and food - has been on the Dream. I would have a hard time saying it is a preference because I had such a good time on the Magic but .... :)

Our first 3 cruises were on the Dream class ships. Conventional wisdom is that you'll like the ships you sail first best, but for us, we prefer the Classics. While midship detective agency is fun, and we do love the AquaDuck, the classics just feel more comfortable and welcoming to us. Animator's is so much better too. Even better, the classics have better iteneraries.

We like the Fantasy but we LOVE the Wonder. She feels like 'home' to us. Haven't done the Dream because I'm not flying from the West coast just for a 3 or 4 night cruise that goes to Nassau and CC. We are sailing on the Magic for the first time in October and I'm sure we will fall in love with her as well.

We like all of the ships but prefer the Dream class for all the extra amenities. We've also had better service & food on the Dream class ships.
