Do you plan your days at the park or do you just do things on a whim?

We kind of plan. The only things set in stone right now are 2 dinners that we have reservations for. Other than that I know there are things we want to do so we will plan around that as the time comes. It's hard for us this year because we are taking our 1 year old for the first time and aren't sure what we are going to do for naps this go around.

I am having a tough time at the moment with my planning maybe someone could help.

We have This so far for the mornings:

Wednes -California
Thurs- EE
Friday-Lilo and Stitch Breakfast , TTMM
Saturday- Minnies Breakfast at the Plaza Inn

My issue is Friday The breakfast is at 7:15 and TTMM starts at 8. We wont have enough time.

We are driving down Tuesday night and leaving here around 9pm. So I dont know when we will get into SoCal. Or i would just do the Lilo and Stitch breakfast on Wednesday.

UGH! what to do!!

Normally, I am an obsessive-compulsive, everything has to be planned out, Virgo who drives my family nuts. However, at Disneyland, I kind of like to just go with the flow. We have several days, and we know what is absolutely "do or die", but we don't know what weather, or tired kids, or sore feet, or the sudden urge to get a massage, or whatever else can come up to affect what and how we go about our way. I would rather not be upset because something went awry on a my schedule, but would like to just relax and enjoy the trip as much as possible. :goodvibes

Princess Kell,
How long is the drive down usually? Where are you staying? Are you leaving Saturday night or Sunday morning?

dangermouse, yes, yes indeed I got a tag. That's what I get for oversharing! :upsidedow

Can you do MTTMM on Saturday, before breakfast at the Plaza? Sometimes people will schedule Minnie's for the last seating, so it's more like brunch, and that way they get the morning for doing things.

Are you sure you want to do TWO character b'fasts in such a short trip?

I usually have one BIG thing planned each day as well, such as dining reservations, Fantasmic, or a tour. I always make sure to check refurbishments in case a ride goes down during our trip. This year several attractions went down the day after we arrived so we knew we had to do those the first day we were there. Also, I keep a list of times for shows so we can plan when we want to see those. After that sort of stuff is figured out we wing the rest.

I believe our drive down is about 7-8 hrs. give or take depending on traffic and how many times we stop. We plan on leaving here on Tuesday night. We are staying at Best Western Anaheim Inn
We leave to come back home on Sunday morning to head to my mom's who lives down there.

Also, what dates are you there?

We will be down Wednesday thru Sunday next week (Turkey day!!)

My daughter doesn't do to much crowd, and I was told that the best time to go is early in the morning vs mid morning. Its less crowded then. so we opted for 8:20.

We dont get down to much. My dh and I figured that if we have the character meals one each day, then if we had to slow our pace down because of a melt down or whatever from the kiddo, that she would still get to see a lot. I guess if she doesnt do well with Lilo and Stitch Friday morning we can cancel Plaza Inn. But we wont know until then. I need kind of an A/B plan.

the only thing we have planned are our meals that we had to make reservations for and of course fantasmic. other then that we will just go with the flow.

If you want a character meal each day AND make TTMM, consider Ariels' Grotto in DCA for Lunch or Dinner and do Lilo and Stitch on Sunday morning before yo leave. We did that on our first trip as we wanted one last taste of Disney before we left

We usually have a general game plan of things we would like to do that day, ie fantasmic, certain rides, a parade or other entertainment thing. We also usually have at least one place we would like to eat at during the day. But other than that we just sort of go with the flow, I go to relax, being on a schedule is about the most unrelaxing thing I can think of....

hmmm you know, I never even thought about doing Lilo on Sunday! hahaha I will have to ask the hubby if he wouldnt mind doing that. Georgia would think it was saving the best for last! As she LOOOOOOOOOOOOVES Lilo and Stitch!

Hearing my three kids argue over what they want to do next is about the most unrelaxing thing I can think of, :headache: hence I PLAN.:thumbsup2 My kids all know that I run the Disney show and count on me to fit it all in for them.

Each night at the hotel I ask them if there is something they didn't get to do that they really wanted to do or if there is something they want to do a second time, and I work that into the next day's plan.

This year I am having my 10 year old dd draw up the daily plans with me. She has become quite the little DLR planning expert. These are invaluable life skills, people! :lmao: ;)

yes that is a benifit I have of having older kids.... at 15 and 23 they don't argue like that anymore... its much more of a pout as they give in...

Well for us we make sure we have several days to spend at the park or we dont go cause well we have to fly to get to Cali and it would be disappointing if we didnt spend a few days in DL.

The only schedual we stick with is for meal reservations. We try to get ourselves into a routine as well so enjoy the park in the morning until about 2:00 and then head back to the hotel for a swim or a nap, then go back to the park when it quiets and cools down a bit.

But other then that it is go with the flow. I dont like having to rush from place to place just to pack in all that I can. I enjoy myself a whole lot more when I have no idea what to expect next. Its kind of like dreaming myself.
