Do you pack beach towels?

Our beach towels take up half a suitcase. I want to pack them, even if it means 6 suitcases for 5 people. DH says leave them. We are flying SW so no baggage fees. In addition to the pool at Pop, we will most likely be visiting both water parks. WDYT?

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. Do we pack them for the kiddos or do we leave them behind....LOL. DH Says the same as yours, but I was thinking bring 2 JIC. We arent doing water parks, but are doing the pool

We are taking ours but of course we are driving. I would just bring a couple to share. But then again you could use the towels from the room since you are staying onsite.

That's a good question. We have to pay baggage fees so we want to pack as little as possible, we are staying offsite but have a private pool so I think we'll end up taking towels.

You don't really need them for the pool. All the pools usually have lots of towels for use or you can bring them from you room and get more. You do need your own towels for the waterparks. Otherwise, you have to rent one at the waterparks if you want to have a towel.

When we stayed at POP last year it wasn't an issue to get enough extra towels, they have large bath towels that were great for the pools. If you want your own instead of taking the why not buy some at the resort shopping area then you have a chance to pick out a personal reminder of your:surfweb: fun at the pools this trip.

We actually discussed this a few weeks ago and I learned you can pick up towels at the pool and take them to the waterparks with you. They all use the same towels and they all go to a centralized laundry.

We packed big beach towels once, and wont do it again. Towels are provided at the waterparks. There's no need to haul towels cross country. When you are lugging 6 suitcases through the airports, you will understand what I mean.

Yes, I read that same thread! It decided me against packing beach towels. I'd rather ask housekeeping for extras, or snag them from the resort pool on the way out to the waterpark.

We do just because we drive to Disney. If we flew, there would be no way;)

When we went last time (to POP) we let the kids each buy a towel from the gift shop as a souvenier and they used them the whole time we were there. The adults just used the hotel towels. I have to say the towels we bought in Disney are still so soft and with no color fading....nice towels. :thumbsup2 We will do the same thing again this time.

Well, not only do they take up a ton of room in your luggage, they never seem to dry...so they will be damp at the pool, waterpark, etc....and worst of all, when you pack up to go home. I would skip bringing your own towels and just use what's there. PP makes a good point about hauling all that luggage around too, even just getting from the car to plane and back again is a lot of work!!

We do pack them when we have a beach stop planned. If you fold one in half and lay it across the bottom of each suitcase and then put clothes on top, it really doesn't take up much room.
Worked for us!! :thumbsup2

I always pack beach towels, but I take the thinner ones. DS's suitcase is a duffel bag, and plenty of stuff fits in there.

We will be shipping ours up with some other items since we decided that flying is better for your LO. But when we're driving we take our Disney beach towels with us.

Not when we go to Disney.

At Disney I just use the pool towels when we stay moderate or deluxe or the room towels when we stay value. You can take the room towels to a water park and then bring them back to the resort after.

When we use room towels, I call for more towels before we leave for the pool and most times they are sitting outside our door when we return.

I take mine, but we also drive, and I like having the bigger, softer beach towels. I'm not too keen on the scratchy hotel towels!! I guess I'm a little spoiled :)

Oooh, great idea! I've been going back and forth on this one myself. We're going to Clearwater Beach for 4 days after our Universal and Disney time, so we'll definitely need our own beach towels then. Plus, my DBF and I are fairly Pooh-sized (me more so than him ;)) so the towels at the resort pools don't really cover enough and I'd like to spare my fellow guests any....distressing sights.
