Do you pack beach towels?

I ordered gigantic Disney towels from Disney.com when they had them on clearance. They...are....huge. DH thought it was stupid to bring towels but I wanted them for their size and for their cuteness. :cool1:

I pack one suitcase with beach/pool stuff....our towels, goggles, a bathing suit for each of us (a second bathing suit for each of us is packed with our clothes), diving toys and inflatables.

We are a family of four. We fly with 4 suitcases. 1 for the kids to share, 1 for pool stuff, 1 for DH and I to share and 1 for gifts to surprise the kids with. (the last one also has room for anything we might buy while on vacation) We always have a washer/dryer in the room, so we don't have to pack a lot.

There are some drawbacks to bringing your own towels, already mentioned. But one of the reasons I like to bring them is so when you are at a resort pool, you can save your chairs while in the pool or going to refill your mug. We like to travel light and don't always have anything to "save" our chairs with that idenitifies it as ours over anyone else's with generic resort towels. Although we have had a problem twice with someone taking a towel, whether it was deliberate or by accident. We bring beach towels that we won't be heartbroken over losing.

I usually pack one for myself because I like a towel to completely cover me at the pools. DH just uses the ones provided. I think they're too little.

I bring bright and colorful towels to put on one chair to save for our family as a home base at pools and the water parks. The white ones are actually being picked up by lifeguards during busy times when all chairs are taken so a colorful one is usually safe and since we only take one chair I don't feel guilty. The Disney ones are the best. Buy them for a souvenier.

We always take ours, the kids have teh cute hooded cape kind, they love those and I my husband and I just like having our own....I like them to be big enough to cover the loungers at the pool...

I never pack beach towels but I do pack a bath wrap size aquas towel they are very thin super absorbent and dry quickly. I have this thing about my own towel can't explain it anyhow this may be an option for you if your willing to invest in them they can be pricey but will save you a ton of packing space.

target has some smaller, thin, light wieght towels in the dollar section. I believe they are $2.50. We bought some last year and they have worked out well for traveling
