Do you own a timeshare condo in Orlando?
It was just a thought that ran through my head to buy a re-sale timeshare in Orlando? I am not talking about DVC- I want to own the property for life, though the maintenance fee is also for life!

What condos would you recommend? Is the maintenance fee go up every year? I was looking on the eBay and they sell timeshare condos there...(WOW!- I'm just learning about eBay.) There's one that I am interested on- Polynesian Isles, have you guys heard of this place?

I don't even know what to ask cause I don't know much about timeshare (though my good friend used to work at a timeshare place (not a rep), I think I'd rather ask you guys here- the ones who actually owns one). Please share any infos you have. Thanks so much in advance.

Unless you plan on going to Orlando every year, do not buy in Orlando. It is very hard to trade out to other areas because Orland has a glut of timeshares.

If you do want to buy, be sure to buy resale. Do not buy directly from the resort. Resale is waaay cheaper.

Telly, I own 4 timeshares (none in Orlando) and can trade for Orlando whenever I want.

We're going to Orange Lake Country Club next week. We traded our Ft. Myers Beach timeshare for this one.

If you love Orlando and will use it almost every year buy there, but get a 2 bedroom and don't spend more than $5000. If possible try for Marriott's Cypress Harbour or any other 5 star (Interval International) or gold crown (RCI).

Also, I highly recommend Tug, as the previous post stated.

I have a SA that trades very nicely to most of the Orlando timeshare.

At present I also own Westgate - but I am trying to give it to a charity.

Don't buy Westgate.....

I own in Orlando (Sheraton Vistana), part of the Starwood Vacation Network.

I've been told several times that Orlando is a great place to own, even if you don't come every year. It is a "red" place as it's always in demand (means you can exchange for red/white or blue resorts).

I bought through the resort itself, and wish I had known about tug or resales before I did. I agree with what the others have said....definately buy a resale if you're going to buy at all.

We bought a timeshare in Tahoe and when we were ready to sell we just went there and stayed for the week . we actually found a couple who were looking to buy. it worked out well for both of us. So, my suggestion is go stay at the resort that you are intrested in and talk to everyone. Who knows you just may find someone who wants to sell cheap.
