Do You Over Eat While at WDW?

no... partly because my husband is super cheap and he tries everything to get us to share meals, eat in the room, and cut back... Also, I haven't found much food I really like there. I know I Probably haven't looked very hard, but we usually stick to counter service, and the counter service food doesn't do much for me...

Also, we walk and swim so much, we usually come back a little lighter....

yes, I guess I do. The last two trips we have purchased the DDP, partly because I don't want to have to worry about what we want to eat and partly because we like having at least one TS a day.
I rarely eat dessert back home but i do at Disney. I don't try and justify it but I know that I am walking miles and miles every day while touring so I don't count calories. And like many of the pp's have said, I'm on vacation!:thumbsup2

Heck yeah I over eat at Disney. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week but I would never ever work out at the Happiest Place on Earth. I work out so I can splurge and not think twice about over indulging.

i indulge in things like cinnamon buns and dole whips. i also will get dessert with my dinners on the dining plan. we don't go crazy, but we don't hold back. (does this include my cocktails?)

i won't feed my kid loads of sugar b/c it makes her crazy. thankfully, she doesn't like soda and lemonade is her sugary drink of choice. we try our best to steer clear of HFCS anywhere we go, but hope for the best at the park.

she does love ice cream and that is usually her dessert. i let her pick out a few things at goofy's, but we also try to stay away from artificial color, so that limits her choices.

Yes! I gained 5 lbs on my last trip! Luckily, I lost those 5 pounds just as fast upon returning!

Normally I don't overdo when I go, but we're spending a few days there for our anniversary and I will be eating as much as my little heart desires . I'm not going to deprive myself this time lol.

Overeating is actually a major point of my vacation! :lmao:

I have a food allergy and Disney is the only place I feel safe eating out... and to enjoy a meal I didn't prepare? :thumbsup2

I try to not overeat in life, so I try not to overeat at Disney.

That being said I eat pretty much whatever I want whenever I want in life, and I do the same in Disney. My approach is to eat what you want when you are hungry and stop when you are full. Sometimes what I want is a Mickey Bar, sometimes a salad from CHH, and sometimes the fish and chips from Yorkshire Fish Shoppe. I just make sure I stop eating when I am no longer hungry, and don't beat myself up about food EVER!

Life is way too short...... and WDW vacations are shorter.

Hey All!

This isn't not a bash about eating, because, well, I LOVE TO EAT!!! :love:LoL! Hey, I'm on vacation, RIGHT? :banana:Believe in me I can stand to lose a few pounds, and my philosphy is, if I want that Mickey icecream cookie sandwich I'll EAT IT! But then I try to budget my food intake for the rest of the day with healthier choices. If I had that dining plan I know I would gain 10 pounds easy! LoL! Why? BECAUSE I LOVE FOOD! Anyway, do you all have ways that you try to eat healthier? Do you bring in healthy snacks to the parks? Just curious. Would love to get ideas on what people eat. I wish I could go hog wild but I just can't. :)

Thanks All!

Brunette

I guess the ultimate answer to your question is, do you come home with more weight than when you left for your vacation? If the answer is yes, then you over ate, if the answer is no, then you didn't

I have never come home from any WDW trip with more pounds. That said, I definately eat more on my trips than I do at home. I basically eat what I want, but not to the point of feeling stuffed. Our family will often have an appetizer or dessert (or share them) at the TS restaurants, but often I will not eat everything on my plate. Although I am not a vegetarian, we eat a lot of vegetarian meals at home and I choose vegetarian meals sometimes at WDW. I am not careful about making sure I eat a balanced diet while at WDW. If I want fruit on vacation, I will have some, but not because I am trying to eat healthy. I try to drink water with most meals, instead of soda. The bottom line for me is I think with all of the walking I do on vacation, I can eat more than I usually do and not gain extra pounds.
