Hi

We have just bought our AP but won't get them activated until our trip later on in the year. When we phone to book our restaurants do we have to have our dde ready so that they are aware that we will get discount or can we purchase the dde and then once we are there and having dinner show the server the dde care?

How do we purchase the dde if we haven't activated our ap yet.

Thanks

Nope. Just tell your server when you sit down.

You can purchase the DDE at any Guest Services counter in any park. They will just want to see your annual pass and it takes just a few minutes to print out the DDE card.

Also, as the PP said, you just let your server know that you have the DDE card. You don't have to let them know when you make your ADRS. AND, be aware that there is an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill when you use the DDE. Just check to make sure that it's there. The automatic gratuity began Jan. 1st and there was a while that some restaurants added it and some didn't.

You'll LOVE the DDE -- we've had one for almost 2 and a half years and have saved hundreds of dollars with it.

If you are making reservations for Cinderell's Castle you have to tell them that you have the DDE card, because this is a prepaid dinner and they will take the 20% up front when you call (however, there are certain exceptions, such as a holiday, etc.) Also you are saying that you already bought your AP and you will activate them later this year. How much later in the year are you going? Because as far as I know your AP will be active to go once you receive them, The experation on the back of them is usually when you purchase them not from the day you actually go to the park and use them for the first time! Did you already pay for them and they are being sent or did you add them on to a reservation as a will call and pick them up when you check in then maybe the experation will be different? You might want to call Disney and ask. :confused3

I'm sorry, but I disagree. We bought our annual passes online a couple of months before we left for WDW (this is the third AP that we've had) and were sent vouchers. We took the vouchers to a ticket window on our first day at WDW and were given our annual passes. The expiration date is from that date (the date of activation), NOT the date of purchase.
