Hi, my parents may be bringing my almost 3 year old nephew with them with we all go to Disney. Do they need his birth certificate to prove his age since they aren't planning on purchasing park tickets for him?

Thanks!

No, my son was 2 1/2 when we went but looks 3 or 4. The CMs didn't believe us but didn't try to make us buy him a ticket. They just joked around with my husband and said, "okay, SURRREEE!"

We took our sons just a month before they turned 3. Nobody questioned us about it. They were small for their age. I would probably bring the bc just in case. Put it under the "can't hurt, might help" heading.

My DS is very tall for his age. We took him a month before his 3rd birthday and were only questioned once. We told the CM his birthday and they let us through the gate without a problem. CM actually apologized for asking us. We did have a copy of his BC with us just in case but never needed it.

If you do bring one, just make a copy. No need to have the original. Have a great time!

My DH scaned and reduced the size of DS's birth certificate to the size of a credit card and just stuck it in his billfold. We were asked hjs age a few times, he was a tall 9 year old, but never questioned for our answer.

We went to Disney World last May 1 week before DS turned 3. He is very tall for his age and always has looked older. We were never stopped or questioned about his age. We had breakfast at the Crystal Palace and was not questioned about his age there either. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :earsboy:

We took our DD to WDW the week before her 3rd birthday. No one ever questioned us at all. (I had the BC w/ me just because, but no CM ever questioned us)

DS will be 3 a week after we come home from WDW; and is huge. I will bring his birth certificate just in case. Last year when he was 1 going on 2 a couple CMs asked about his size (jokingly); I showed the certificate just to prove it to them;even though they didn't request it. If its easy to get the Certificate; I say bring it. I travel with their birth certificates for the airport; with the climate of the world right now - you may just have to prove that those are your children your travelling with (DD4, DS2).

We took DS the week before he turned 3. I was worried someone might doubt us because he could talk like a 5 year old. Since I knew he really wasn't 3 yet, I must not have looked guilty because no one ever questioned us. The birth cert. is a good idea though.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of this... we're going in three weeks, and DS will turn 3 on our last park day. I have already checked about buying him a ticket for that day, and was told that if he is not 3 at arrival, there is no need to buy a ticket. (I'm sure sad this is his last "free" trip!!!) However, we have gotten conflicting CM opinions on whether we will be charged for his restaurant meals on his birthday and the day after. We'll see how that goes (I'm fine with it, either way). But a copy of his BC might be a good idea to have along.
