Do you need a new refillable mug every day on the meal plan?

We are considering the meal plan in July and wondering if you need a new mug every day if you add that option.

I don't think so. There is no way to check to see if you bought the mug that day. They just check to make sure you are wearing the wrist band for free food, and all the wrist band says "1 Day 1/2 Park Meal Deal." The only way they would know is if the cups changed, but they have been the same for a while, so its unlikely. You also might have to sneak the cups in.

You can purchase a sipper cup that offers lifetime unlimited refills.

Thanks everyone. How much does the lifetime refill one cost, and where do you get those?

YOu can purchase them where they sell drinks and in most of the shops. There are many different ones. Just make sure you ask when you buy it if it is the refillable one.

Thanks for the info.

Are all the refillable cups *FREE REFILLS*? How about the big cups? I heard something about some with free refills and some that are *reduced price* refills. Which is which and where do I buy them? And just how reduced IS reduced???

ps....thanks for all the info. :flower3: It seems everytime I get a question answered it leads to a new question. :headache: :rolleyes1

the price would depend on the present promo.

last summer many had the free refills.
later in the year it was about a quarter for them.

i use the refillable lifetime mug for cheap refills. this is different than the beverage promo.
last summer it was 74 cents and in october it was $1.22 for refills.

i used my AAA and sometimes AP for the 10% discount on that cheap rate.
both cards are the same discount.

I'm so confused. Is the lifetime refillable mug for free refills or discounted? Can you just buy a re-fillable for a day or week?

Good. I was afraid it was just me. :thumbsup2 I just can't get the whole mug thing straight! :rotfl2: I'm SURE it's not rocket science, but...:confused3

:lmao:

I bought my mug over 9 years ago.
it is still valid and qualifies for the refills on soda at the refill price.

any mug you buy at universal is considered in the lifetime refill cheap at the parks.

i'm so cheap.
i even use my AAA or my AP to get the 10% discount on the refill price.

i bought the dueling dragons mug.
i like it as it has the handle and easy to hang onto.

the sponge bob mugs are kewl but boxy shaped.
they aren't as easy to lug around at the parks.

Thanks for this bit of info. I like the idea of a refillable cup and will buy a couple when we go in March. Is this info posted on their website anywhere?

no, the refillable lifetime mugs are not listed anywhere on the website.

this is one of the things that you find out by reading the universal forums.

when you regularly go to the UO parks, you will find out little gems like this often.....:goodvibes

Yup! Plus they don't hold much soda. They are really just for kids to enjoy but not very practical. We take our meal deal cups whenever my mother comes along with us on the trips since she holds them while we ride the coasters. I also hadn't thought about using the annual pass discount on the refill price. That's just genius!
