Do you need a Map (park guide) at WDW?

I gotta admit, I don't really look at the Map Parks at WDW anymore. The day we arrive, I'll pick up all the maps at resort check in, but usually don't need them. I look at internet maps before we leave so I guess all the parks are in my head. But I don't really need maps, do you? S

I only grab a map for the showtimes, not for park navigating :)

I usually end up bringing home several maps from each park in my luggage, though...DS 5 is a 'map reader' :p :p

By now I know my way around but I still grab one for the showtimes.

Since I've only been once, I do need them. LOL

Maybe some day I can aspire to not needing maps at WDW. LOL

I think sometimes we pick them up, but if we do it is only for the showtimes.

I still like getting a map when we arrive, and refer back to the map every once in awhile if I'm not exactly sure where something is.

You'd think after 8 trips I'd know where everything is....but I don't!

We also hold on to them and bring them home as keepsakes. It's fun to look back on a map that is 8 years old to see things that aren't there anymore, or places that have been re-named, etc.

I need one for Animal Kingdom and occasionally for MGM.

Nope, don't need them. I usually take 2 or 3 for my scrapbook, though. We do use the time sheet.

Just remember, for those who have not been there for a year or so, that the time schedules for each park are now seperate from the park guide maps. The maps do not change weekly, but the time insert does. Just an FYI.

The only one I still need is for AK...and I *probably* don't need that one anymore either.

Actually, what the maps come in handy for are bathroom locations. :)

I only pick them up now to get the times of shows and parades. :) And if those are separate now, there's no point any more. ;)

Other than that, I could *draw* you a map for MK and Epcot, and sorta get one for MGM and AK. I'm not as good with those two parks, though ;)

Well, I have only been once, I could probably get around MK, Epcot, and MGM without a map, but not AK.

When I go back in May though, I think that I will have one with me though just in case.

I think I know where all the attractions are now, after two trips, but I still use a map to find certain things, like restaurants.

For WDW I will DEFFIENTLY need a map. It will be our first visit.

For DLR I do NOT need a map but get one because it has the show/parade times.

Go ONE time with my DH - you'll have every bathroom memorized as well.

LOL!;) I do not need a map for ANY of the parks, as I go 3 times a year now!:o I do take one to bring home, and now that the time schedule is seperate, I try and remember to take one of those home too!;) (in case anyone on the boards want to know times for park opening and closings, etc.):p

I still get confused at MGM (don't spend much time there), and I don't know where all the bathrooms at DAK are yet. Other than that, I don't need them. I know MK & EC, bathrooms & all, "like the back of my hand." But I always pick one up, and I look at them sometimes while waiting in line... to pick what to do next. I sometimes mark off attractions/restaurants on maps as we do them, so I can have a prompter for writing journals.

Yep. When DH and I went there last year (the first time for both of us in over 20 yrs), they sure came in handy.

Don't use the park maps but I do pick up the guide with the showtimes.
