if so.. what do you do.. do you just give them the note.. or do you put something with it.. last year we put packs of trident gum with each thank you... just wondering what others are doing?? My little girl wants to put suckers this year.. and I don't think that is a good idea.. what do you think??? any other ideas would be greatly appreciated...

What a great idea! I never thought of that. We always tip Mousekeeping (daily) and leave a note at the end of the week. But, I never thought about "thank you" notes for CM's.

I was thinking about printing on business cards "Thank you for making our day magical" or something like that with our names and a special email address. They would be easy to keep up with and we could hand them to special CMs.

Actually, what we have done is made up a bunch of business card sized thank yous. On the front is a note saying "thank you very much, you have helped make this a WONDERFUL vacation because of your GREAT service, and FANTASTIC attitude!" With our names on the bottom.
and on the back I printed the next years calendar (we are going the end of 2007, so I printed the 2008 calendar). I figure this is something that they can use all the time, and when they do, they will remember how they helped make our vacation.
I will then let my two kids hand them out when we find a great CM. I will problaby also include a small package of gum (the kind that come four to a pack and look like chiclets)

CM appreciation cards are pretty popular, and the CMs love to get them (especially those who have never seen them, they fawn over them!)

A lot of people add a little something like a small candy, an inexpensive pin, or some stickers to their CMACs. A friend of mine always puts candy canes on them during the holiday season.

I tend to forget that I have them and not hand them out much.

I print mine from Tagrel.com - they have the BEST collection of CMACs anywhere on the web; they are all MS Word files that you can easily personalize, i.e. "Smith Family, NY, NY" or whatever.

You can find them here:

I absolutely love his site. But be prepared if you start to read his fantastic trip reports, you will be there for many enjoyable hours. I actually look forward to his next trip just to see his photos and read his detailed stories. But I digress... :)

The last time we went over Christmas (Dec. 2004) we took those small individually wrapped candy canes and handed them out to CMs that were helpful and also ones that looked like they may need a little extra pixie dust themselves. It was so nice to see their reactions. They were so surprised and grateful that someone was actually acknowledging them for a change. We have decided that we will try to find something like that to do each time we go back. It was a great lesson for our kids as well.

I think this is a wonderful idea and plan to print some off the next time I go to WDW. No matter how you do it, I'm sure these gestures of gratitude are greatly appreciated.

very cool idea...I'll have to do this next time...when ever next time is...

We made some this past weekend for our trip. We put "Thanks for making our trip EXTRA SPECIAL--the Oliver & Hughes Family" Then my daughter and mom decorated them with stickers. Haven't decided what to attach to them yet. :teeth:

I'm so glad this thread got started...We had so many occasions on our last trip to say thank you to CMs, this would have been perfect.

I think I know what I will be doing for our trip in Feb/Mar 2007. :thumbsup2

There's something else that you can do too, something a bit more official. We actually did it for 4 different cast members at different times during our trip last week. If you go by the Guest Services room (if you're at a park) or the Front Desk (sometimes guest services, depending on the hotel), you can fill out a cast recognition form. It says something about the cast member is appreciated for:... and you fill it in. In addition to receiving a copy of it (framed, I think), a copy of it also goes into their personnel file. It is a way for the cast member to not only get recognized, but to get OFFICIAL kudos, too.

Don't know if its the same at Disney, but in my original field (paramedic), it was said one "Uh oh" wiped out 10 "attaboys". So, never can have too many attaboys in the file, just in case!

Keep the magic flowing! :thumbsup2

What a fabulous idea - I never thought of that. I make my own Mousekeeping envelopes and tie little tulle bags with individually wrapped candy to them, but I have never done one for a CM - I will on my next visit.

when i was dancing at disney my friends are cm's and they love suckers but they can't eat them during shifts because everyone is there and lunch wasn't until 1:30 sometimes. (mine was right after the afternoon parade) but we also like gift cards and gum.
gum because if we are hungry before or after our lunch break we can chew on it. so gift cards or gum would work.
but thank you notes are great!

Thanks. This is what I was looking for!
