Do you make ADRs when solo?

Thank you for asking this question as I didn't even think of it. The only table service restaurants I've been to are Coral Reef Cafe and Rainforest Cafe. I guess I better get planning!

So last night I sat down and planned out my days and decided to make a few ADRS. That was quite the experience! I tried to reserve at various places but the only times were at 2:00pm or 10:30pm. I don't want to get the Hangries at Disney so that won't work! Then I realized I was trying to reserve a table for 2 (I don't know why I missed that detail). As soon as I changed to one person, I snagged the perfect table at Tony's in MK. I'm disappointed I couldn't get a seat at 50's Prime but I'll keep trying. I'm so excited to dine by myself

Sorry if I'm posting too much but I am so excited I can't handle it! I just got a reservation at Rose & Crown Pub for my day at Epcot. Then I reserved the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose. I'll eat a late lunch and then end the night with a show I have not had the pleasure of seeing before.

I always make ADRs for the TS that I want to try. The exception being Marrakesh as its not that popular & is usually an easy walk-in. I always enjoy my meal, people watch a bit, strike up a conversation with the server, etc. I agree with the PPs who mentioned not to feel uncomfortable eating at TS if solo. The majority of other diners are so caught up in their own family dynamics & problems, that they really don't notice or care if you are dining alone. If you enjoy trying new dishes & if food is a priority during your vacation, def make those ADRs. Then sit back and enjoy.

And why I always eat at the bar whenever I can--no screaming kids, server right there with you, and usually other bar patrons to converse with.

I very rarely make ADRs when I'm there with my wife or with friends and that is even more rare on solo trips. I prefer the spontaneity of deciding where I want to go each day and the ability to leave a park for another if it is too crowded to having set ADRs. I that means I eat at off times or at second choices it is a trade off I am willing to make. YMMV.

I found the best service I've received is when I dine alone. The wait staff are happy to have adult conversation and tend to give their undivided attention to a solo. I've received free apps or dessert when I am alone (not at Disney) so of course, I tip well.

I would , good dining books up and fills up .

Here goes--Shulas, Blue Zoo, Il MUlino, Jiko, California grill, Citricos, narcoossee's, Flying Fish, Fultons, Portobello, Boathouse, Paridiso, T-rex, ESPN, Territory Bar next to Artist Point, Yak and yeti, Raglan Road, Olivias, Splittsville--and I'm probably leaving out several more...including that new Steak House at the Springs and Morimitos

At all you can just walk in (earlier is always better) and get a seat w/o a reservation. And a full meal available at them all. We haven't made a dining reservation in the past 5 years.

You are away from all the screaming kids, bartenders always friendly and the other bar patrons (if any) are friendly as well.

Yes, thanks very much for this list. I've gone solo a number of times and will in future and this will be very handy. I can add The Wave Lounge at the CR to the list.

Yep--the Wave for sure--tho we've not done the bar there as yet.
I'm surprised that you haven't hit that yet. We've enjoyed Wave several times - a couple at the bar.

My upcoming October trip suddenly became a solo trip, and I almost immediately added some ADRs to my trip. The people I was going to go with didn't want to spend money on TS restaurants. I decided that it's been 17 years since I last went and I wanted to experience as much as possible. I'm only sad I didn't know sooner because I missed out on the nighttime attraction dining packages.

I made dinner ADR for La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant in Epcot when I was visiting solo and also for late lunch at the Yak & Yeti restaurant in AK.
I am planning another solo trip for July, and will most likely make a dinner ADR in Epcot again, just not sure which restaurant.
