Do you make a special snack on the first day of school?

For those with kids, do you make a special snack the first day of school?

I've always made chocolate chip cookies. My kids count on these and my 16yo DD told me yesterday that knowing that she's coming home to fresh cookies helps get her through the first day of school.

I went to make them today and were out of chocolate chips, not to mention that I had a killer migraine that wouldn't go away.

My DH went to the store to get choc chips and my headache finally went away enough for me to get the dough made. Afterall, I couldn't let the munchkins down, could I?

One year I had jury duty on the first day of school and worried that my husband would forget to make the cookies.

LOL, but I'm vegetarian! But you did give me an idea. I'll hide the choc chip cookie dough and get the carrot sticks out. I'll tell the kids that I was sick and unable to make the cookies. hehehe They'd NEVER believe me, though...
