Taking the idea from the cook top stove thread.....with my new stove I also purchased a new washer and dryer, which is what precipitated the purchase in the first place and since I was getting a washer and dryer delivered and needed a new kitchen stove....why not?
Well I picked out a new high efficiency washer...and not really loving it yet. The first week I washed, stuff did not get clean, the next week a pair of pants came out of the washer with what looked like lint streaked on them (which came off in the dryer ?) and the next week sweaters and shirts came out so wrinkly that there would be no way I could have just hung them up to dry and put away. I do usually iron my shirts but not sweaters and I have had to steam them when they come out of this washer. I now wash things in smaller loads (even though the drum of this thing is huge and says it is for super big loads) so now I am doing 2 loads of wash that would have been done previously in 1 just to get them clean and not so wrinkly.
I would in a minute go back to a regular washer without the HE if I was given the chance.

The cycles take forever. It doesn't get the clothes clean either.

I wonder if there is a difference between top and front loaders.
I can pause if I forgot something and pick a quicker cycle time if I need it.
Sure, the clothes come out of the washer tangled, but I just un-tangle them and give them a quick shake before they go in the dryer.
