Do you love your coffeemaker? If so, what brand do you have? I'm looking for a coffeemaker that makes great coffee and has a timer to start brewing in the morning and perhaps a built-in grinder. The timer is essential so I can wake up to freshly brewed coffee and I'm not sure if the built-in grinder is worth the extra $30-$40.

*yawn*

I'm not used to getting up early and now I'm up at 6:15 every morning because my daughter's school starts at 7:40. I used to get up much later ... sometimes as late as 9:00 ! We drink coffee every morning, but we use a Chemex or a french press, both of which require me to boil water and pour it into the coffeemaker. The Chemex requires repeated pours. It makes great coffee, but it's taking too much time when I am too asleep! My DH has been home the last 2 weeks, but will resume travelling next week and it will just be me getting up and getting my DD to kindergarten. I need a nice hot cuppa joe for my morning walk and I don't want to have to boil water!

My days of being a Stay-At-Home-Mom-Sleep-Late-Slacker are over!

I love anyone that makes me coffee

We don't own a regular coffee maker, we have a cappuchino machine and we have a classic (manual) expresso makers.

We have the Cuisinart Grind and Brew. My husband swears by it. I on the other hand cannot tell the difference. It is a pain to clean also.

You will probably have to buy a new one about every 1-1/2 to 2 years, as the design is still not right, due to moisture getting in the grinder motor, and the door getting "stuck" (which will crack). We are on our 4th Cuisinart Grind and Brew in 4-1/2 years.

I liked it so much better when we grinded our coffee and then put it into the coffeemaker, that $20.00 coffeemaker lasted about 10 years, until the pot got cracked.

Why yes! Yes I do love my coffeemaker. Now you ask what brand it is? I can't remember, and I'm at work, so I can check. I can say that it's black and silver though.

Anyway, it's the kind that has an insulated carafe as opposed to a glass pot. It's great, because it keeps the coffee warm all morning without burning it.

I love my coffee maker. :teeth:

hubby keeps fixing the tubes that bring the water to the coffee area....they do get clogged..........Mine is a Krups and I love it totally......I can either program it to make it for the next morning or I make it up and when I get out of bed in the morning turn it on while I shower.........works well and it is over 8 years old......I did think one year that it was not fixable and bought a bunn........could not find another krups

No I don't love it... I hate it! LOL. I'm in the market for a new coffee maker too! I have a plain old Mr. Coffee and it's so-so, but my caraff drips too much when I pour and it burns the coffee after about an hour. Ack, I just don't like it.

love my grind and brew cuinanart. I do agree with the poster that it is alot to clean but so worth it for fresh brewed coffee. Also, i have the thermo pot. That is even better than the grinder part. The heating element turns off after the coffee is made but the coffee in the thermo pot stays warm all day if you want. it is great for people like me who forget to turn the pot off.

Thanks everybody!

I read somewhere else that the cuinanart needs to be cleaned often and that it's a pain. I didn't think about getting one of the thermo pots. We currently decant our from the Chemex into a thermo pot. One less thing to do in the morning! Hmmm ...

Keep 'em coming ... leahannpen and I need a new coffeemaker :). If there's one group that loved their caffeine, it's the DIS ;).

I don't drink or make coffee.

However, DH does and I bought him the cuisinart grind & brew at Costco, I think it was $80.

I doubt he cleans anything except the filter and the pot!! Are there other parts to clean? I don't touch it!

I have a Bunn coffee maker that I have had over 10 years!
Bunn
You pour the water in the top and coffee comes out before you are done pouring the water in! You can't hook up a timer to it, but who needs one when you can have a fresh, hot, Cup O' Joe in mere minutes!:cool2: It isn't cheap, but it's well worth the money in the long run.::yes::

Great thread! I may be looking for a new one as well. Last year I bought a Hamilton Beach that doesn't have a "pot". It has a level that you push your cup against and the coffee pours out. Neat idea, but I've gone through 2 of them already. The clock didn't work in either one of them and now the second one doesn't keep the coffe hot. Just don't buy the Hamilton Beach Brew Station or you'll regret it!

I have two coffee makers--one in my office, one at home. I bought them for $9.88 each at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago.
They are junk, but they brew the joe.:confused3

I have the Black and Decker under the cabinet coffeemaker that I love. It doesn't take up space on the counter. It has a timer, because I have to have a cup of coffee in the morning. If I don't have coffee, my brain won't run all its pistons.

Krups Aroma Control
The coffee is just finishing brewing as we are getting up in the morning, nice and hot too, yup I love it!

I do love my coffee maker. It is Mr. Coffee that came with 2 brass/plastic filters which is nice. It makes 10 or 12 cups, I don't know offhand. It has a timer which I now use religiously! It also has an automatic shut off after 2 or 3 hours in case you forget to shut it off. You can also adjust the heat on the plate so that if your pot is full, you can put it on high but if your pot is almost empty you can lower it so it doesn't burn.

I've also heard great things about the coffee makers with the thermos pots (I think Krups makes them?) so the coffee maker can shut off right away and there's no hazard. I've been tempted to try one when my coffee maker bites the dust!

I don't really know much about the coffee makers that also grind. That's not a priority for me.

I have the Gevalia coffee maker. I got it a few weeks ago. Its really nice, stainless silver/black. Has a timer and clock, so I wake up to hot, delicious coffee in the A.M. The coffee's great too. A nice variety.

I like Krups. I've been using Krups coffee makers for almost 20 years now and I swear it makes one of the best cups of coffer. Mine doesn't have a timer, but I know Krups make some models with one. I also use a Krups gold filter.

I have a Krups coffee grinder, but that I don't use it much anymore. Frankly, it's just one more gadget to clean.

I bought a coffeemaker this weekend as I needed it for this morning. It was really great to hear what people liked about their coffeemakers and helped my make my choice.

Drumroll please ....

I bought a Cuisinart DTC-975 in black. It's a programmable coffeemaker with a thermal carafe. No grinder because I read that they often broke and that they really needed to be cleaned well every day. The thermal carafe because I don't want my coffee to sit on a hot plate for hours (even with an automatic shut-off) and get burnt.

My DH had to catch a very early flight this morning and set the coffee to brew at 4:00 AM. It was still piping hot when I came down at 6:45 AM to make my DD breakfast. I emptied the carafe at 2:00 PM and the coffee was still very warm. The coffee was pretty good, but I think it'll take me the rest of the week to get the correct amount of coffee in the machine.
