Dear Segway Supporter

On 5 January 2010, the Department for Transport in the UK announced publication of a consultation on Electric Personal Vehicles (EPV) seeking views on whether the law should be changed to allow such vehicles to use public roads and cycle tracks.

Cutting congestion and transport emissions, increasing mobility and improving use of urban areas and space are important issues. Segway PTs could help to provide a contribution to the solution to such problems and encourage modal shift away from cars in urban areas.

As a Segway PT supporter, we urge you to consider responding positively to the consultation.

Submitting a response should not take long. For your information and inspiration, we have uploaded some sample submissions (a copy of Segway Inc's corporate response plus others). Do feel free to use these samples to help you complete the response document.

The deadline is the 30 March 2010. Submissions can be sent electronically via email or in hard copy through the post.

My bad. I copied it directly from an email I had, but exchange changed the link to go through my mail server first. All fixed now.

I work in a shopping centre and have to use a lift to get to the loading bay, the lift is shared by security workers who ride around on segways. There was a segway sitting outside the lift the other day, I definiatly got tempted...
