Do you lock your luggage....

We bought a pack of "disposable" locks, Samsonite brand, 12 for $5. At D/FW curbside I asked the TSA agent if we could put them on and he said yes. When we got to Orlando only 2 of our 4 bags still had the locks, but none of the bags had notes from TSA. All four had those stickers so I have no clue what they did. It is possible the locks just broke off - that's what they are designed to do. Coming home I didn't even bother wiht the disposables.

Something really annoying though, we bought brand new luggage tags for this trip and DH lost BOTH of them - the one on his checked bag AND the one on his carry on! They were the ones from Target that a piece with the info slides into an oval shaped case. The middles fell out of both of them!

Yep, I have the same locks. They have a symbol on them showing the TSA that they are the new style locks that they can unlock with their keys. I paid only $5 each at the Samsonite outlet store.

I used a TSA lock the last time I flew. Rather than using their key to unlock it, the TSA numbskulls cut the "eyelet" part of the zipper off!

We never lock our checked luggage any longer...My bags were searched on the way to MCO. It was a bag with a lot of small items in it, our over the counter medicines, some souvenirs and things like our shampoo, deoderant, hair spray, Bath and Body work items..guess it looked like a lot of cans and things to them on a scanner..nothing was missing, all was fine..

The last time we locked ours they cut my cute Mickey locks off so no more locking here!!!

We also use the cable ties just to keep the zippers from opening. As others have pointed out, nothing of value gets checked.

Everytime I fly out of MSP here, I always find a slip in my bag. However, nothing is disturbed. I get the feeling they open them, stick the sheet in, and close them. However, when I fly back out of BIL, they do the security on the explosive detectors before you get to the check in counter. It is a terrible system, and I've seen the person in front of me get EVERYTHING taken out of thier bag and checked, and then I only get the swab on the outside.

At PIT, they don't have the capacity to scan all the bags. So some are sent over to another section for manual inspection.
