Do you live IN Disney World????

I did live at FtW the winter's of 2002/03 & 2003/04 while we were selling one home and building another. FtW was literally my address!! (Well, okay - we "officially" had a mailbox place in Kissimmee.) Our MH was our home from 11/02 to 05/04. I loved it, and could do it again in a heartbeat! I just wish my DH felt the same way. He has a need for a home-base to make him feel secure. I keep telling him that a storage unit could be considered a "home-base"!! :rotfl2:

Did you ever get sick of being there or tired of any part of it?

In all honesty???? NO!! I could live there year round (if I could afford it)! My DH on the other hand - said the lengthy stay spoiled the magic of FtW for him. I just don't understand!!:confused3 :lmao:

We're currently at FW and staying this time for almost 40 days. With this stay this makes 6 times that we've stayed for 30 days or more since 1991. We are also coming for another 40 days from 20 Oct to 1 Dec 2008 and generally we do two thirty day or more trips twice in a year then wait a couple of years and do the same thing again. That way we get max use out of our APs and doing this way is IMHO great in that you don't have to go to the parks every day and have plenty of down time to just enjoy FW and vegging.

We live just outside of D.C. and generally it will cost us around $600 in fuel round trip. We eat the majority of our meals at the trailer and each out like 10 times during a 30 day period all except two maybe three are lunches. Our WDW eating out runs us around $1000 for the two of which includes a couple of lunches for 5 when our sons and their family join us.

Sounds so fun! Tell Mickey I said "hi"!

It sounds great to stay for that amount of time. My husband and I joke that we want to home school the kids and live at the fort 1/2 of the year. If only that would work.

My kids ask for this repeatedly and we do homeschool :goodvibes ! They also would like to sell everything and school on the road in a motorhome for a year or so. Knowing them better than they know themselves, we foresee the fights and spats that would ensue. They also forget about the piano lessons (hard to fit in the RV), the orchestra & violin lessons, the Latin tutor, baseball/softball.....the list goes on.... I could do a month there...we're gradually working the husband up to that - got two weeks this time around - half way there!

I was a WDW CM for several years and we had a fellow that came down every winter (maybe spring) for several years. He camped at FW and worked with us for several months. His wife was not retired yet, so he would head back home in time for her to get out of school - she was a teacher. It was neat to see him every year.

One of these days.......

Just curious, do they give you a break on the site rent or do you have to pay the regular rate? I'm curious because I may be moving to Orlando ahead of my wife and kids in the spring and will be looking at temporary living situations...and I already have the Airstream!

This thread has started me seriously thinking and may just change my life! For the better, so thank you for posting it :thumbsup2 !
