Do you live: city, suburbs, country ?

Ocean City is a beach town (island) and I love it here. The spring, winter and fall here is very quiet but the summers are busy. It is more of a family resort and even in the summer all is quiet by midnight. It helps that it is a dry town. If I could I would have 3 homes. One here, one in New Hampshire and one in Florida. But, until I hit the lottery this one will do just fine.

I live in the middle (well North of) of London,in a 'nicer' area though:(

I was born and bred here but hate living in a dirty, busy city. In a few years we will definitely move out to a greener cleaner safer place::yes::

We live in the suburbs. Would prefer to live in the city. Have to get in the car and drive everywhere I would prefer to walk. We are here because of the schools. My youngest will be a senior in HS this year so maybe won't be here too much longer.

I live in the suburbs. We're in the DFW area, right between the D and the FW. It's very conveinent. We've talked about moving to a different suburb. You couldn't pay me a million bucks to live in Dallas with thier crappy schools and crazy school board and that city council  .

If I could live where I want and time and money were no factor...I'd probably pick an ocean community or just stay in the 'burbs.:D

I live in the mountains and love it! I grew up in the suburbs of NJ just outside NYC and I will never go back, I've fallen in love with living in "the middle of nowhere."

We live in typical suburbia. We like it - someday I think I'd like to live in the downtown area of our small town - just to be close enough to walk to everything.

Funny story: a couple of weeks ago, DH & I were walking away from the Ballpark in San Francisco after a game. The couple walking right behind us were having a conversation. She asked him where he lived - he said across town, she asked if he worked in the City too. He said that he worked in a town in suburbia - he named a town near us. She asked if he minded the commute, he said that since it was counter-commute, it was OK - besides, he could NEVER live out there - "too homogenous" & everybody has their "2.2 kids". She answered that she grew up ent:nother town out there (named a city on the other side of ours) and that "that area is getting worse & worse all the time"! DH & I were trying not to laugh - here, us surburbanites would never live in the City, because of the crime (nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there). I'd have to say that it opened my eyes - hopefully, you live where you are comfortable. These young people might change their minds when it comes to having kids and schooling them - on the other hand, they can make a fine life for a family right there in the City. Ah yes, different strokes for different folks!

Well, I really think it matters if you own or rent.
BUT we own and live in the city. We like the location, but not the land. We are looking to move to the suburbs for more land. ::yes:: With two small kids, it stinks not to have a yard for them to play in.

We live in a small rural town north of Pittsburgh. I wouldn't change it for a thing. We love it. Alot of neighborhood and community activities. It's kind of like 'Cheers'...where everybody knows your name.

This is an interesting observation. We were those young people 20 years ago. :) And ever since, well meaning friends and family members have been trying to talk us out of living in the city. For somre reason, people equate suburbia with families, and cities with young single people. But that must be changing, because we have plenty of families in our urban neighborhood. Both DH and I were raised in the heart of Baltimore City, and we're comfortable in an urban enviornment. Ocassionally I get to thinking we might move to the suburbs so the kids can have a yard to play in, but then I visit and all the houses look the same and all the strip malls make my eyes go bleary, and I put moving out of the city right out of my mind. :) As you said, different strokes. :)

Burbs for me. I actually live in a suburb of Boston. I chose to live here because of my friend. I was comming out here to attend The Boston Conservatory, and she just happen to have a room open up in the apartment. And six years later I'm still in the same place.

I live in the suburbs...funny thing is when I first moved to this area I wouldn't even consider where I live now b/c it was too far from everything and was the "country" oh well...the burbs keep growing!

with new york city, considered the "city", then I live in the suburbs!

We live in a small town on a "dead end" street where a woods is right behind us and a field in front of us.:D

:)

Me too and I also wouldn't live anywhere else.

We live in a community of 40,000 located 30 miles northeast of San Antonio. On the southeast side of the Texas hill country. Grew up about an hour north of here. Lived here for eight years. Hope to live here till the day I die...

It's nice to live in a (relatively) small town but still be close enough to the big city for shopping, dining, entertainment, etc.

We live in the suburbs of the small city of Muncie, IN.(population 70,000) and shrinking. We like here, but travel to warmer places during the winter.(WDW, New Orleans, Vegas, etc)

Right in the middle of a small-sized city. Everything I need (school, hospital, grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, clothes shopping etc is within a 2 miles radius)
