I do not like seafood at all period so I do not like any sushi I have seen. I have heard of vegetarian sushi, but since I have never seen it I have no idea if I would like it or not.

I could literally eat sushi morning, noon and night. When we first moved to Japan, I had only tried it once or twice and didn't care for it, but by the third time, I loved it and have ever since. We have Friday sushi night at our house eat week and all four of our kids love it too.

i've eaten some types of sushi. my favorite is the tuna roll. just so you know, if you eat tuna, you're eating raw fish people! lol. i've had that, and i've had a veggie roll. those are the only types i like. i don't like any other kind of fish besides tuna, so i wouldn't like it.

my sister kept trying to tell me to try the eel one but i just couldn't do it. gross!

Are you saying that canned tuna is raw? I'm pretty sure it is cooked. Texture, color and taste is nothing like raw tuna.

I like sushi, but I'm not too adventuresome. I like whitefish, tuna, shrimp (which is, of course, cooked), and any type of roll. I don't like anything that still has eyes or suckers on it. :rotfl2: I'm not overly fond of eel. I'll pretty much try anything.

I love, love, love, love Sushi! Did I mention that I LOVE sushi??? ;)

I love sushi but I tend to eat rolls and nigiri that aren't raw. Occasionally I'll have a raw yellowtail or tuna roll, but mostly I prefer cooked. I got violently ill after eating raw sushi about six years ago, and that kind of scared me away from it!

I do like it. But have find some places where they taste nasty.:scared:

I love sushi, too. Not all are made with raw fish, though. There are different kinds and now there is fusion cooking made with Western ingredients, like the California roll.

I especially love inarizushi which is made in a fried tofu pouch.

I think you are correct.

I love the California Rolls rolled in sesame seeds with the seaweed inside the roll. I mix the ginger, Wasabi & soy sauce together to dip. I buy them every time I go into Trader Joe's. The seaweed is good for you.

I don't eat fish, so I've never tried sushi and don't intend to. I'm morally opposed to eating fish- it takes food from the penguins. :lmao:

Canned tuna is definitely cooked.

I think that the poster may have been thinking about smoked salmon. While it is smoked, it is not cooked and is much closer to sushi than it is to cooked salmon.

For those of you who haven't tried sushi and are ruling it out because you don't like cooked fish, it is truly like comparing apples to oranges. While there are fishy tasting sushis - i.e.. mackeral, most sushis have no fishy taste - i.e. maguro (tuna) and hamachi (yellowtail).

We're vegetarian and eat sushi, so it doesn't have to be a raw fish thing. As a matter of fact, by definition, it's the sticky rice that makes it sushi. That much I learned when my daughter was in third grade, studying Japan and we went on a field trip to a Japanese restaurant. :rotfl: Here's a link that explains. http://www.epicurious.com/cooking/how_to/food_dictionary/entry?id=4824 My son was on a sushi-making kick for awhile, but I hate the smell of the nori (seaweed) and could not eat what he would make.

We have a place near us that makes great tempura sushi. I guess not the healthiest thing ever, but if you're afraid of raw fish, it would be a good option. :thumbsup2

Also a vegetarian who love sushi. But no seafood for me. I stick to cucumber, avocado, and asparagus rolls, or some combination thereof.

This thread makes me want the spicy suhi plate at the CA Grill. There are days husband and I get a big craving for that and it's so far away. That is probably one of the best sushi I have ever had.
