Do you like Spam

Ja ich bin deutsch sind Sie auch?

Nein. But good for you. Just goes to show that we shouldn't be so quick to judge other posters' grammar and spelling. Incidentally, I went to school with an exchange student from Wiesbaden. His grasp of English was better than 99% of the Americans on campus. I'm not sure how that's relevant to this conversation, but I thought I'd throw it in.

I've only tried spam once, when I had a boyfriend who used to take spam sandwiches to work every day.

I was surprised to find it tasted much better than I'd imagined. But still, I've never had it again since.

But this is the DIS. It's our job to judge. :confused3

It's definitely not my favorite food but if it's cubed up and fried with scrambled eggs it's not too bad.

I love it this way... actually this is the only way I will eat either Spam or eggs:thumbsup2

Echt? oder Schmarrn??

However I would say that I have been chatised in past for posting in German by a moderator, so suggest that we continue in English.

he he he... no, I am pretty clean! But someone got a little excited and made a long post in German to me, which was taken as exclusionary I suppose.

Besides, most of the 'cool' German swear words we used were actually English words :rotfl:

I have never had Spam, however I imagine it must be better than Chuckwagon (which I have never had either but the recipe :scared1: ).

I was pretty disgusted when my DH fried some up, drained it and then added a can of peaches, but amazingly enough it is pretty tasty. We never had Spam growing up, but my parents ate potted meat and vienna sausages and my tummy seizes up just typing those.

Does Spammy have slices of Spam plastered all over him? Or is he more like a giant Gumby only Spam colored?

He's more like a giant can of Spam, with a frighteningly happy cartoon face.

Seriously -- you can't make this stuff up.

Oh and scrapple? If you don't know what it is, you're better off that way. :scared:

:
Isn't Spammy at the character breakfast in Epcot?

(& actually he'd be a culturally correct addition to the Poly character meals.)

hound - :hippie:

That's what I understand too. But what is so weird is there was this BBQ place nearby that had something they called scrapple but it wasn't the gross stuff- it had like mashed sweet potatoes, boiled white potatoes, corn and bits of ham. And it was really spicy and just so good. I wish I could figure out the recipe for the potato scrapple because it was far from gross.

Maybe the bits of ham were not really ham, if you get my drift. Was it on the menu like this:

"ham"
