So....I'm just wondering - do you like Pal Mickey? Am I the only person here that doesn't like Pal Mickey :confused3 ?

I don't like him because I didn't think he spoke enough in the parks for the amount of money we paid for him. When he did speak, we could barely hear him. The clip that is on him is not that good and a couple times he slipped out of his clip and we nearly lost him. Yeah....we were pretty disappointed in Pal Mickey.

Now that he is home my 17 month old DD loves him because he talks when you press his belly. She likes him as a toy - we didn't like him as a tour guide. :sad2:

Oh well, you live and learn

We don't really like ours either. Ordered him on line and only paid like $21 for him. When he arrived my 3 kids were all fighting over him and I thought I'd have to buy 2 more. At the parks he was really inconvient. Very difficult to hear, didn't say too much, no one wanted to carry him. We had put one of those clips that you get in Home Depot, they come in different colors costs about $1 and that did keep him secure. Kids got so tired of him we turned him off and left him in the room for 1/2 the trip. Going back in May and I asked if we were bringing him and everyone said NO!

We just got back from WDW. Both of our kids (DS7 and DD3) wanted a pal Mickey. Our son never took his off! He was constantly getting things in the parks and if we didn't hear him, we'd just press his tummy and let his say it again. Mickey was definitely a hit with our son....especially at Animal Kingdom.

Our daughter on the other hand, lasted about 2 hours with Mickey. Hers' stayed in the room most of the vacation because she didn't want to hold it.

I was so excited to buy him, too, but I have the same complaint - WE CAN'T HEAR HIM!! I miss almost all of the things he says. Sometimes my daughters will carry him right up by their ears and that is the only way we catch what he says. I thought we had a bum Mickey!!

I wonder if they have improved on him??? I bought him the first month he came out. I think it's a great idea and he is cute and fun, but he just lost his novelty with our family because he's a bother to carry around since we can't hear him.

Our Pal Mickey is sitting on top of our fridge waiting for our next trip...We put him up there so our DD's won't play with him. (this will be his 5th trip, his clip is gone...

I really need to go and find him some cute outfits. Where would I get cute clothes for him?

We have our Pal Mickey attached to a WDW bottle strap, that way it was easier to pass him around. We had fun, he needs new batteries before we leave in March.

I had heard his clip wouldn't keep him on, so being afraid I would lose him, I made him a new clip before I left. I took a multipurpose tie (like plumbers and carpenters use to bundle things together) and slipped it through the key ring on a caniber clip, then locked the tie around Mickey's neck. It worked like a charm and made it easy to unhook him from a fanny belt or back pack strap to hear him. Personally I liked him, but my 8 y/o GD quickly tired of him and he chattered so much, that my adult son asked me how much I paid for him and then offered to buy me another one at the end of the trip, if I would toss this one in a lake somewhere. He's sitting in the top of my closet waiting for my May trip. If you clip him on a backpack strap you can hear him pretty well, without unclipping him. I paid $27.00 plus some change, ordering him through the Disney Character Warehouse in Miami.

I have no idea idea where I bought him!! Through a website I found here on these boards, it was a phone number you called and spoke to someone. Sorry I don't have more info for you. Even though we don't love him, can't imagine selling him- how bizzare is that? My dd is 4 (tomorrow) and she occasionally plays with him.

yeah I kinda had enough of him after 30 mins, there is lots to see in disney (I think) without having to get a pal mickey. Would not get him again. But I still love mickey :earboy2:

We love our Pal Mickey!!!! I especially enjoy all his jokes, because we are a real pun-loving family, and our trips to Disney really bring out the punster in each of us. We love to see how bad the next joke will be, and to ask each other (especially on boats, buses or other places where there are likely to be other people listening) "Did you get it? Because they don't know the words!!! Hahahahahahahaha!!!!" (Answer to: Why does a hummingbird hum?) It just seems to be the kind of thing you can do at Disney that you'd be locked up for at home.
I do think Pal Mickey eats an awful lot of batteries. Mine tends to vibrate non-stop when his batteries are low - once on the Haunted Mansion he vibrated all the way through - felt like I had had a massage by the time I came out!!!! (He was stuck in my backpack at the time!)

Pal Mickey is really cute, but he was indeed difficult to hear, and it got awkward carrying him around. So I decided Pal Mickey would rather stay in the hotel room while we were at the parks. I sat him in a chair on our AKL savannah balcony so he can watch the giraffes, and we were all happier!

I Love my Pal Mickey. Only problem is that his clip broke on our last trip and we couldn't find a CM able to help us out! Apparently they don't sell replacement clips. The only option they gave us was to exchange him for a new Pal Mickey... but there was no way I was about to "exchange" a member of my family!?!?!?! Honestly, I have a real attachment to the little guy :earsboy: Anyone else have a clip break? Any ideas of what I could use as a replacement? The original clip fit perfectly on the strap pf my waistpack.

I love the idea of Pal Mickey, but everyone I talk to says he is too big to carry around all day long. I dolnt have any kids to carry him so I plan to carry out a Pal Mickeyectomy. I will take all of the electronics out of mickey and place them in a small project box from radio shack, add a small speaker with a clip (Like the police use on their radios) and clip the box to my fanny pack.

With my Pal Mickey in a box, with an external speaker I will have all the fun of Pal Mickey without the drawbacks: Low sound volume, size ect.......

Hold off on that surgery. When I received Pal Mickey in the mail, he was much smaller than I had imagined. I'd say he is about 10 inches tall and not very wide. He can easily fit in my purse. He also has a clip that will work on your fanny pack.

I ordered my Pal Mickey from one of the Character Premiere Outlet stores. There was a long thread on the Budget Board about it. It was $27.99 plus $10.99 shipping. When I ordered mine they were only down to 2, so they may be out of them by now.

I heard the new ones coming out for the new celebration worked better, more sayings, etc. Hopefully they fixed the sound issue.

Just got back and my two girls each had a Pal Mickey attached to their lanyards. They both loved him and carried him everyday. :goodvibes One day my DD10 decided to give him a break and leave him at the hotel for a "rest".... My DD6 brought hers to the park, and everytime he talked my DD10 would say "I wish I brought Mickey with me today"

My girls got them for Christmas. (Thanks to the budget board). I was looking for 2 additional ones from the outlets for my nephews. I think all of the outlets are out of them at this point but will probably be selling them again once the new ones come out!! ::MickeyMo

For our family, our "pals" went everywhere! The girls would just hold them up to their ears when Mickey wanted to talk. I guess it all depends..but we are BIG Pal Mickey Fans!!! :lovestruc

Bought my Pal Mickey at Disney's Wilderness Lodge back in June 2004. I've lost the clip for Mickey at my house, but I created my own clip, by using a keyring and a combination of a clip keyring that I bought at the Atlantic City Hilton Casino and Hotel, as well as a rock climbing clip. At home, I have my Mickey sitting next to my picture with Mickey and my picture with Darth Sidious.

I will be back at Disney in 6 days, going down on the last day of the ESPN The Weekend celebration. :cool1:
