Just curious? We ate there for dinner in Jan. and it was very inexpensive to other WDW buffets? I would like to try the breakfast.

TIA

We did both Breakfast and Lunch and LOVED IT !!! I thought the price was great compared to the other meals we had at other WDW restaurants. Their selection is great, something for everyone.

We eat there every trip ... always enjoy it.

There were some comments here lately about things going down hill, but maybe that was hurricane related, maybe I misunderstood.

We sorta miss when Crockett's tavern was a separate setup ... the bread pudding with whip cream was great, without the crowds.

The breakfast's have always been great too.

Just learned about carry out ... never tried that, but we will next trip.

We've eaten in for dinner more than a few times and gotten trails-to-go - both the pizza and the chicken - don't get the pizza. We got the breakfast buffet to go once, we bought three meals and fed four adults and two children on that. Never eaten breakfast in the restaurant though. Other than the pizza I'd say everything is excellent. I only wish they had some ice cream to go with the cobbler for dessert. That would make it perfect for me.

We love Trails End. We have had Breakfast and Dinner. With four of us a buffett is a great meal deal.

I think the ribs are the best around.

Ate at T'sE a few weeks ago and compared to our dinner there in June it was not as good. Ribs were dry and lots of fat and chicken was also dry. Cobbler wasn't as good either.

We love breakfast at Trails End. It is our favorite place to go. We go to Disney 4-5 times a year and we always make a point to go there for breakfast on the last day of our trip before heading home. It is kind of tradition now. Even when we don't stay at Ft. Wilderness we drive there for breakfast. :flower:

Great food. We ate there 2 nights. They were even fair with my kids. When they brought the bill they said my kids didn't eat enough for the buffet so they only charged me for pizza and mac&cheese for the kids.

Wonderful place that I highly reccomend.

We have experienced breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Liked all three although breakfast is my favorite. Dinner was next because they had some different things on the buffet besides fried chicken and ribs (but those were good too :goodvibes )

Amy, how difficult is it to drive to and get to inside FW? I have a ARD there on the day we switch hotels and thought it would be easier to drive over from Shades of Green near the Poly. The time we ate dinner there...........we took the boat over from MK.

It is always a great way to start our trip, we like having dinner there on our first night....

We love Trails End. The breakfast is very good for a Great price.

I was one who stated on another thread that I felt the quality of Trail's End was slipping. Don't get me wrong, I still rank TE as one of my favorite restaurants at WDW and the best food value on property. I just noticed that the selections were fewer, the ribs were on the dry side, and the vegetables were limp and soggy. There also was not the fresh fruit available as in the past. This was not at the end of the night - it was between 4:30 and 5 pm. They do have a new chef there - the old one left for health reasons. Hopefully things will improve, but I still will go there.

Do you think we will need ADR's (do they take them) for Trails End late lunch or early dinner in early January 06????

Probably not, but it wouldn't hurt to make the ADR's anyway, just in case. When we were down in October I had ADR's for every meal, but it was so quiet they didn't even check when we came in.

Are you coming directly from Shades of Green? If you are than this is the long way for you to go but this is general directions. There is probably an easier way from SoG. We stayed at SoG not too long ago but not sure which roads we took to get to Ft. Wilderness. The important thing is use the second entrance not the check-in entrance.

Follow the main road in to Magic Kingdom, the one where you have to pay to park for Magic Kingdom, we always use the far right lane for resorts. You should have your Shades of Green parking permit so they will wave you through. If not tell them you are going to Ft. Wilderness so you won't have to pay for parking. Follow the signs, I think it is your first right and then take the second entrance, not the check-in entrance. There is a seperate entrance, no guard gate. I can't remember exactly what the sign says but something like Parking for Settlement, Trail's End, Hoop-De-Doo etc.. You will see it once you pass where the check-in entrance in. Park in there and then take a bus to the Settlement. There are 3 buses that come frequently. We usually take the shortest route which is the Yellow bus, Purple is the longest. Orange isn't too bad either. Actually none of the buses are a bad trip. Purple takes longer and has more stops. Yellow is a straight route and only 2 stops so we usually wait for that one. That is it. Not too hard at all. We sometimes park at Contemporary and take the boat but usually just drive right there when we are staying at another resort. Someone else might be able to give better directions or specific directions from SoG but hope this helps some.

If you need to stall for time, or in our case not quite ready to drive home and leave Disney, we sometimes after eating take the boat to Contemporary and walk around the shops. :flower:

We're staying @ VWL, which I'm told is a mile away via a walking trail from the campground. Hopefully, the boat will stop there? How far is Trails End from the boat dock (my DS has a very slowly healing broken foot/turf toe, etc. & Dr. said he has to be in a transport chair for "long walks"). We will have a car if that would be easier. Thanks.

Trail's End is about 100 yards from the marina. Just walk down the boardwalk and turn right. The big building houses Crockett's, Trail's End and HDD. In fact, the walk at VWL to the marina at WL is probably longer than the walk from the marina at FW to TE.
