Hate to burst the NY'ers bubble, but the BEST bagels are located about 8 hours north of NYC in Montreal. No contest. My favourite is a poppy seed bagel just out of the wood fired oven at St. Viateur Bagel in Montreal no cream cheese or anything else needed. Sesame seed a close second.

I LOVE bagels!!! My favorite are from Manhattan Bagel, I like everything bagels, spinach bagels and poppy seed bagels.

Poppy or sesame bagels. I'm completely traditional about bagels also.

Cream cheese mixed with chopped green olives on top of a toasted bagel....yummy!

I've had Montreal bagels. they're not the same.

Definitely a plain bagel, or better yet a bialy, from Tal's Bagels with cream cheese, lox, slice of tomato and onion.

I've never met a bagel I didn't like. Or a bagel topping or stuffing. I like plain cream cheese, but I also eat them with peanut butter or stuffed like a sandwich. I really like toasted whole wheat bagels with sliced strawberries on top. I put some of the strawberry juice on them to make them a little softer and then top with thin sliced sweetened strawberries. YUM!

I’m not much of a bagel eater, but I did have a blueberry one once that was really good. I’m not sure what the other kind I like are – they’re marbled, or something like that.

First of all, all really good bagels come from bagel bar right here in sunny miami fl...

I'm drooooling all over my keyboard. LOL I love 7 grain bagels spread with garlic butter or jalapeno bagels with jalapeno cheese melted on top. Also love blueberry bagel with the B&B blueberry spread on it for breakfast.

Being originally from NJ and having grown up on bagels from 86th Street in Brooklyn, I agree with BR that a lot of what passes for bagels (Einstein Bros, Panera, etc) are not recognizable as bagels. Down here, the best I can find are Manhattan bagels - still not the "real deal" but closer than anything else. Then again, its also impossible to find the wonderful NY/NJ Italian Bread and hard rolls down here either.

And my favorite is a basic plain bagel with a very light spreading of butter.

Stephen and I were told by Jaypd when we met him at WDW just after 9/11, that we don't know what a real bagel tastes like out here in the west. He was going to send Stephen a real, salt bagel (Stephen's fav) but life is very busy as a NYC police officer, so we haven't seen it yet. But, out here, I love white chocolate, macadamia nut bagels from Mickey C's bagels. Probably not what you all think a bagel should be, but real tasty nonetheless.
