I like the ones at Disney like this...

No I do not like that. My ex used to hunt and I hated it, but he was NOT allowed to keep "trophies"! And I would NOT eat what he brought home so he had to either give it away or eat it on the spot.

I just think it's kind of creepy to have those dead things staring at me. People can hunt; they can keep their trophies, whatever, I just don't want to see them because it's just ughhh...
I don't mind the animals in the Country Bear Jamboree. Those aren't real, and never were.
We once stayed at a really sketchy motel and in the "breakfast nook" were a whole bunch of animals on the wall right over where we were eating:crazy2: They were all animals that are local to the area, and really have overrun the place so that's ok; I just didn't like having them over me as I was eating.

My DH and I love to hunt. We only harvest what we can eat. We don't waste. We do have 3 whitetail mounts on the wall. I have many memories hunting with my DH and spending time in the outdoors. We take very good care of the property that we hunt on.

I realize that everyone doesn't like hunting. I respect that. But I sure do smell a debate!!!;)

I more then Dislike them. I see no purpose in them. You don't see cattle farmers with Cow heads on their walls (at least I haven't).

I mean what IS the point of having these "trophies? Other then to say, Look what I can do? I have a gun and I can kill deer, moose, [insert whatever animal here]?

and just for clairfication. Yes I am a vegetarian. That is my choice. I have no problem with others eating meat (my oldest does in fact). I also have no problem with hunting for meat. I do however have a problem with hunting for sport/trophies.

Yeah, I think it's pretty gross. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't like looking at animals that have been dead for a long time! I do think the jackalope at a local restaurant is funny tho. I havn't figured out if it's real yet???;) :teeth:

I don't like it. My brother-in-law has several deer heads plus a mounted fox and bobcat. I think it's kind of creepy but that's just me.

EsmereldaX

That is just toooo cute!!!

I HATE them!!! My dad has a deer head mounted on the wall at his lake house. He also has paws/hooves mounted under it holding a shotgun. HORRIBLE!!!!!! He didn't shoot this deer, he bought the set, but I still think it's awful. I don't know why my mom let him put it up.

But I don't think that's what you are talking about. ;)

I have ordered alot of their stuff and it's all great, Although I live in Fl. I have become so homesick for the north that my house is done almost all in lodge motif, maybe that is why I am such a WL nut! But I love that catalog and you can't beat the prices! Pretty good quality too!

but I am a hunter and we hunt for the venison we bring home.......some years we have no choice but to shoot a horned animal......because of the permits that we have in Maine......I ...will be allowed to get a moose but only a bull so a bull means that the antlers have to be there.......We hunt but we are enjoying our land ....Maine is beautiful .....we see other wildlife that we watch and enjoy......I have been able to see moose (out of season) fisher, fox, coyote, a pilated woodpecker....a big white owl....plenty of turkeys....so there is more then just going out for a "kill" as you all think it is........we enjoy the out of doors......

No offence to you that hunt but I think it is mean to kill a wild animal. I personally don't like the fact that people hunt for heads and stuff. Thats just me though. I know lots of people like to hunt and thats fine.

most of the hunting is done for management control.....so those deer do not get to the point of being so over populated that they run out in the cities and get hit by cars.....or become agressive and go into the shopping areas or in your yards attack your pets and kids as they sit in their play areas............Maine winters are rough......alot of deer end up in the side of roads after being hit.....because they are moving to food......Moose kill the people because they have become over populated in areas and they get hit by cars and go thru the windshields.........some times ......knowledge of Wildlife preservation is a good tool......
the moose hunt that is regulated in Maine .....so many per district and in the district where they have been hit by cars .....the permit issue is higher......
My apology to the original poster

I guess RobinRS won't be coming to my house anytime soon........

And for the record, my guys practice the same hunting laws and share the respect and love of nature that Pumba does.
