I had an IQ of 23 while I was in high school during the 70's. What on Earth happened since then? Oh I know, I am pretty sure that I have killed a few brain cells since then.

My IQ in high school was 145. They don't give you your score but I found out when I saw my transcript when I changed schools.

My father and my son had a very high IQ but I think there is a knack for taking tests such as these.

Oh crap...I don't know. I just read the thread title and took it from there. After checking, I didn't realize there is a test involved. Too liquored up this evening to take a test, for pete's sake. I could be like 200 for all I know. I am feeling pretty intelligent these days. Heck, I learn everything on DIS these days.

nope, if you try three times, you get to add the scores right????? kidding but i did have to start it three different times i was trying to watch dancing with the stars........................i do think that it's sort of a crap shoot with some of the questions, if you've never been exposed by luck or draw to soltaire or nietchze it does not necessarily mean you have a deficient intelligence, just no exposure to those items......

First of all, the original IQ test that we got back in school was the stanford IQ test. And although I am sure you are all incredibly bright and intelligent people, probably more so than me in fact.

It's my understanding that only about 2%-5% of the entire population gets over 130 or 135. Over 160 would then be what....1% of the entire population??

And they're all right here on the disboards???

So I am sure this is fun, I will try it myself, I know my Stanford score and see how it compares.

I wouldn't get too excited.....all you geniuses!!!

Mine was 124, which shocks me since I guessed at most of the pattern questions. Guess I'm not as dumb as I thought.

I know one of the 1%. He tested over 180 on the standard test at age 5 or 6. Last I knew they were waiting until he was older to give him a more in depth IQ test that is given to those with extremely high scores. When he was 7 he was doing 9th grade algebra. The child is extremely bright and challenging (apparently emotional problems are very common in the highly gifted). I've lost contact with his mom, but I often wonder how he is fairing. I think he would be around 12 now. When he was younger his mom was homeschooling him because the schools really didn't know what to do with him. Eventually it became too stressful and she put him back in PS. I know they applied for a scholarship though a program that places gifted students in private school that will work with their unique needs.
