Do you know anyone who married the same person twice?

Yes, Me! ;) My dh gave his life back to the Lord while we were divorced. We had a lot to work through, but we got remarried. Things are so much better than they ever were before we got divorced.

And my dad and stepmom. They got divorced and remarried two years later. They've now been together another 20 years and are still going strong. :thumbsup2

My Uncle and Aunt were married for 20 plus years, raised 3 daughters and divorced. She remarried and was divorced - he sounded abusive from my cousins stories. When she left him, she reconciled with my Uncle. They remarried and shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away quickly. So sad! That was 13 years ago and she hasn't remarried again.

My MIL and FIL reconciled briefly 5 years ago but they didn't remarry. I felt bad for dh because he was really hopeful for his parents. It was also very confusing for my kids. Their grandparents were divorced before they were born and suddenly they were together and then not.

I went to college with a woman who I ended up working with several years later. When she started the job, she had just gone through a divorce and was starting to date other guys. After about a year, I saw her at the company holiday party getting quite cozy with a guy. I asked her who it was and she said, "my ex!" They ended up getting remarried and had a baby about a year later. She said they got married young the first time but after dating other guys after the divorce, she realized there wasn't anyone better out there for her.

My mother married my father twice. They only divorced once but separated several times so it was usually a strange situation.

C.Ann their chances really depend on how young they split up. There is a psychologist, Nancy Kalish, who has done a lot of research on first love reunions. They actually have very high success rates since a lot of the time the reasons for the break up were outside the relationship or due to youth.

Anyways as for the original question, my really good childhood friend had divorced parents. They divorced when she was a baby. They got married again when we were in our 20s and are very happy now.

2 different couples - gma and gpa did and the second time they stayed together till he died.
the other my uncle and his wife married about 4 times to each other and didn't work..

My sister. They married the first time in a hurry....she was pregnant and I just don't think he was ready. They divorced, but he always was a good father and did stuff for her. They reamarried years later and had another child and are very happy!

My parents. They got divorced when I was 2 months old (they were way too young and immature to handle a the marraige and the baby--some people do well with it at 19 and 21 but they were not those people). They remarried when I was 4 and that lasted 26 years. They had a very bitter break up about 5 years ago but are actually good friends now and even work for each other.

Yes.

My grandparents.

More than a bazillion years ago.

They are both gone for many years, and I miss them mightily.

They divorced in an era LONG ago when it was not acceptable, but after some issues were resolved, remarried a year later. That took huge courage in their era.

I don't judge anyone who has done the same thing.

I always thought this just happened in soap operas and Hollywood, but I actually do know a couple!

They were married and had 2 kids, She cheated on him and they got divorced. They were divorced for about 3 years, and then they remarried! She got pregnant, and now they have 3 kids.

I keep thinking those kids are the luckiest kids on the planet. How many kids dream about mom and dad getting back together and it never happens?

Yes, my brother and his wife lived together and after a couple of years got married. After about six months they got a divorce but couldn't live without each other so a few months later they started seeing each other again and eventually moved back in together. They lived together for years and a few years ago eloped in Las Vegas and are still together. Their first date was on his 30th birthday and he is 55 now so they have been together a very long time.

My neighbors. They were married 11 years divorced, married other people, he had 2 more daughters and 11 years remarried. They now have been remarried 16 going on 17 years. All 3 of the girls get along and the wife said I got the bonus of 2 more daughters the second time around. She also loves it when people ask how long they've been married and how old their daughter is.:rotfl2:

My MIL and my SIL both got a divorce from their husbands and then remarried them a few years later. Did not work out any better the second time around for them.:confused3

I know one couple and they are engaged now. They are parents of a friend of mine. They divorced when my friend was 12. Their divorce wasn't bitter and they got along well. When my friend left for college they got back together and are planning to get married again sometime this year. They are planning a small destination wedding for just them and their kids.

My Aunt married and divorced the same man twice. I guess some lessons are repeated until they're learned.;)

Yes, my best friend's husband was married before. To the same woman, twice. Needless to say it did not work out that second time. :lmao:

Step in a bear trap...manage to get out of the bear trap...step back into the same bear trap?:confused3

JUST JOKING!! :rotfl:

I don't know of anyone but hey..if it works out good for them.:thumbsup2

My Aunt and Uncle remarried after divorce and Uncle was married and had kids with another woman.

My Mom and Dad are back together after a divorce and both married other people but in almost 10 years still not live together/married????

Dh Aunt and Uncle are back together 15 years after being seperated (never divorced) for years and years (catholic)?

Common in our families. LOL
