The lady I work with, her son in law is a member of the men's rowing team. His name is Mike Wherley. I am so excited for her and the rest of his family.

Paul Terek - Decathalon

Sheila Taormina - Triathlon (she also won a gold in swimming)

Steve Warner- Rowing.

There are a few from NH there. I know there's a rower, but I don't know her name. And Jenny Thompson is a swimmer. Maybe some others but I don't honestly know.

My Cousin's Husband, Grant Cashmore is on the New Zealand Equestrian Team, I know it's not the USA team, but he has worked very very had for a long time to get where he is!

Hmmm-this sounds convoluted, but....my cousin's husband's cousin is swimming for team USA. Eric Vendt. He was also in Sydney as well.

Stephanie Arnold from Portland, Indiana, is one of the three members of the womens archery team in Greece. We were at the Jay County Fair a couple of weeks ago and she was there showing her archery skills.

I've met the Judo athlete, Jimmy Pedro. He used to practice and teach at the same place where i used to do martial arts.

Being from New Jersey, we have a vested interest in the USA Womens Soccer team. Christie Rampone is from Pt. Pleasant, right here in Ocean County. Our cousin coached Heather O'Reilly in high school basketball. She has been kind enough to keep in touch with our twin DD's throughout her career. We wish both of them well.

One of my former students, Nikky Kubes, is competing in Judo. She's just 17. Her older sister Bridgette, who I also taught, was injured in a car accident last year and had to quit Judo. Talk about proud parents!

The big local guy here is Michael Phelps. He trains at the same swim club that my friend used to train at, so that is a slight connection, lol!
