Do you keep photos of your friends' children?

Every year for Christmas, I receive several cards from friends that include individual photos of their children. Now these photos aren't part of the Christmas card, but separate photos (wallet size). The friends always write the name of the child and the date on the back of the photo. I feel bad throwing these photos out, but I have never met most of the children anyway. I don't want a drawer full of photos of children that I don't know and I wouldn't expect someone to keep a photo of my child that I sent them.

So, those of you with children, am I in trouble?

I still keep a photo album, and often I include these pictures of the children with our current pictures. I even have been known to cut the pictures that are Christmas cards to picture size and put them in the album.

It took me a few years to decide on this course of action.

Nothing wrong with throwing the pictures away... but my DSs are over 25 and I still have extra grammar school/soccer team pictures that I just can't bear to throw away.

Bobbi :)

Well I have been married going on 12 years now and I have kept every single christmas card I have ever received. I don't display them every year or anything weird like that. I just make sure I pack them up in the same box with all the others every year. So, when I get those pictures they stay on the fridge until it is time to pack up all the Christmas stuff and then they all go in the box with the cards. I would feel bad throwing out the pictures, but I don't see any reason that you couldn't escpecially if you don't even know the kids. :goodvibes

No I sure dont. I only keep the ones that I know come over to my house alot lol!

I keep them with the card. Always makes me smile when I read the notes and see the pics.

Unless we are very close to them, we only keep photos that include the parents. I think it is very disappointing to get photos of just the kiddo's, but realize it is better than no photo at all.

shhh! dont tell anyone but i toss them. however, if i found out they did that to my kids pics it would upset me... :furious:

I always do a family photo for this reason -- besides, the card is from all of us. No, I don't keep the photos. I don't display my Christmas cards, though, so I don't have to worry about someone coming over and asking me where their picture is! I love getting cards, photos, and especially letters (even "generic" ones) from people, but I don't keep them.

I create a book. I got a bunch of cheap (like free) heart note cards from halmark. I glue the hearts into a little scrapbook, trim the photo, write the childs name and date on the front, comments on the inside left, picture glued to inside right. Then if the parents visit, I can show them that there child matters to me (even if they kinda umm dont) and I dont have that drawer ful

I enjoy looking at the photos that arrive with the holiday cards, but I generally don't save them. I send out photos or photo Christmas cards every year, but I don't expect the recipients to keep them.

I haven't had anyone send me pictures yet.. and usually, I lose the Christmas cards :(

However.. My SIL has her kids pictures done, what feels like, every 2 months. We always get a 5x7 of each of her kids (3) plus (6) wallets of the same pictures. It is definitely photo-overload for me. We are throwing away the wallets.. but I have NO idea what to do with the 5x7's.. I don't have enough room to display them all.

I have a cousin I am VERY close too and I get lots of pics of her kiddies, and she gets lots from me too lol....
I take the wallets and I have a small scrapbook called "The Cousins". It is all their pics, My 4 yr ds loves to look at the book and talk about the boys.
I usually only put up the newest of the 5x7's, but if I have Santa pics in 5x7 at Christmas time, most of the pics in the house get changed out to the holiday photos of all the kiddies. Its so cute and everyone who comes over comments.

Most defiantly. I am planning on doing a dvd of them all when they graduate HS.
