Do you Hop??

Wow, there's a LOT of hoppers here.

Personally I've only ever hopped once in (pauses to count entries in signature below!) six holidays and that was just so we could see the Osbourne Lights, as they hadn't been switched on at the time we did our original day at MGM, so we had to go back.

Okay, it may have something to do with us always staying off-site and so not having a hotel nearby to go back to, but I feel that once I'm in a park, I want to do EVERYTHING that park has to offer there and then (I'm an impatient sort!). Having to leave the park and queue up to get on a bus to go somewhere else (and that somewhere probably being a place we'll be going to in a few days anyway), always seemed such a time consuming process.

I think that if we had a chance to have a longer holiday (nearer three weeks for example), then we would probably hop more and spend extra half-days in parks, but as it is we tend to only have time for one day in each park, so have to make the most of our time in them and not travelling.

Only downside is that our touring style meant we're never around for the parades, not seen the AK parade. We'll make sure to do so next trip.
This is one of the drawbacks to take into consideration. Also, how much hopping you do can be influenced by whether you have children and how old they are. Fortunatley my DD has plenty stamina and keeps up (most of the time). I have her well trained. :lmao:

Oh my gosh are you sure you're not part of our family as that's exactly with what we do :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

To me it is the most sensible way to do it.

We're hoppers.
There have been times when we have been in MK and been thinking about what we want to eat and someone will decide they want Biergarten -so off to Epcot we go. We love the flexibility of the Ultimate ticket for this very reason.

We are hoppers, like a lot of others we go to a park in the morning then back to the resort for a few hours before returning in the evening. We have done a full day in a park a few times but it is normally when we have been in Jan/Feb and the weather is not so hot although we did go back early one day in February as it was freezing. If it is too hot or humid then I like to have a rest in the middle of the day to recharge my batteries.

We generally hop between Epcot and HS using the International Gateway. We also try to be at AK early and then pop back to the villa for a couple of hours before returning to a different park in the evening for parades and/or fireworks.

We used to hop before we had the kids, but now we tend to choose a park and stay in it for the day. The time of year that we usually go the parks aren't usually open very late so we aren't out till all hours! :)

I guess as they get older though we may start to hop again!

Always hopped on most 'Disney days' on all 4 of my past trips, but all those trips have been with other adults and teens... Think if I was going with younger kids I wouldn't bother most of the time.

We usually hop:cool1:

Even though we stay off site, we have never found it a problem:thumbsup2

We are hoppers. We like the fact that we can go from park to park if we want to with the Ultimate tickets. Sometimes we spend the day in one park, sometimes we don't.:goodvibes

We only hopped once on our last trip, when the boys were 5 and 8, there was so much to take in we didn't need to. One morning we went into AK for an hour to go on Everest again, but I think we than went to Blizzard Beach.

This time we will be doing more hopping, we are staying onsite, we have DDP and will be eating in Epcot a couple of times when we shall be spending the day elsewhere.

We always hop. I don't think we've ever stayed anywhere that's not in the Epcot resort area and with the Epcot park usually being open into the evening, we tend to choose to go to another park for the rest of the day and head back and hit Epcot say 4/5pm.

We (2 adults no kids) usually hop - we like the felxibility. Last year we went with friends and they got the non park hopper tickets to save a bit of money. I managed to plan it fairly well but I did miss being able to pop into Epcot for a drink or two, or go to a shop somewhere.

I think we prefer to hop.

ye we are hoppers too

That's a detail people overlook when they think of hopping. It's those informal hops if I can put it that way, which are so nice to have. So you may spend all day in one park but after an evening swim at the resort you feel like grabbing a bit at Epcot and this is one of the hidden gems of hoppers. If buying the US MYW tickets, not worth adding hoppers just for that, but we certainly make use of our hoppers for things like that, in addition to changing parks. :thumbsup2
