My parents are 72 and 67, and instead of getting their prescriptions filled at the local pharmacy they now have to go through Medco. Originally their doctor's office faxed all of their prescription info to Medco and they got their pills in the mail, now they have to be ordered, individually, either by phone, fax or mail. I phone the orders in for them, even though I know Mom could do it herself if she just would. She says it would "make her too nervous."
You don't even talk to a real person when you call, it's all automated and you speak your answers right into the phone. It's SO EASY but she refuses to even TRY to do it, so I keep going up there to call them in for her. And I can't call them in all at once. One needs to be called in at a certain time, another at another time, etc. every 3 months.
I'm not a heartless person, I'm happy to help them with things that are difficult or impossible for them to do but something they COULD do for themselves is kind of aggravating.
Ah, well, thanks for letting me vent...
