Going with the family -- me, dh and two dds. DH has already said he doesn't want to wear a costume. Does he have to ? The girls will wear them.

I'm at a loss of what to wear myself. I don't want to wear a big costume and I haven't had any brainstorms about what to wear.

:earsboy: WELCOME tothe DIS Oncemorewithfeeling!!! :earsboy:

No you don't have to wear a costume and you won't feel out of place if you don't.The majority of adults aren't in costume!

I have a few costume ideas! Baseball players.Your favorite team's jersey/t-shirt and a ball cap, shorts or sweats and sneakers.A pirate is easy and light weight too.Black shorts or capris, striped shirt, bandana,an eye patch,a hoop earring and there ya go.How about 101 dalmations? You could take white shorts/pants and t-shirts and go to town with spots! Ears could be made out of felt or craft foam on ball caps (esp for the guys) or maybe headbands for the ladies.Or the Mickey Mouse Club.Red pants, mouse ears,t-shirts with each ones name on it.

If you scroll down on the link I have here you'll find some costume idea links I posted in an earlier post on MNSSHP.The 20 page MNSSHP thread at the top of the page!

My DH and I are hoping to go while on our trip next year. He doesn't want to wear a costume either. So I told him to dress as he normally would, and if anyone asks, to tell them that he's a tourist.

He actually liked that idea...

My Mom and I are going on Oct 3 or 5. We have been looking for halloween t-shirts to wear in lieu of costumes. She found one at Target, black with a pumpkin on it but they didn't have my size. We saw some nice sweatshirts at K-Mart but I think they will be too warm in early October.

Hey Oncemorewithfeeling!

We went to MNSSHP two years back, and the only one that wore a costume was our five year old. Even her brother (7) who walked her up to the Trick or Treat stations did not wear a costume, and still got treats ;)

As stated by another poster, most adults do not wear a costume at the party. It was HOT the day we went, and were glad we had our shorts and tees ;)

I just wore my t-shirt from the Haunted Mansion ride (which glows in the dark), and that was good enough (and got lots of attention!)

Have fun :)

We went 4 years ago and didn't wear costumes but we did bring our pooh & piglet ears to wear for the photo. We love them both so much and don't mind looking like goofballs in a photo or 2. My dream now is to make it back for the party in 2006 with my sister and niece. I would consider dressing up for that, again because we're just goofy like that. But most adults do not choose to dress up.

My dh and I are also looking for some cute Halloween tees. I wanted something matching! But, I haven't had much luck! I have found the ones in Target and Old Navy for women, but none for men! Anyone else have any better luck? :bounce:

Hey DebbieB - there's a DIS Meet going on Oct 3 - check it out on the DIS Meets board!

I talked my family into going as the Flintstones. DH & I are Fred and Wilma, DD(11) is Pebbles and DS(8) has actually agreed to be Bamm Bamm. I've already made our costumes. Don't tell me that we adults are going to stick out like sore thumbs and DH will kill me for talking him into it! Hey, at least he'll have some coverage. I'm feeling half naked with my shoulder hanging out!
