Do you have to tender at any of the Mexican Riviera ports?

In 2008 we tendered at Cabo, docked at Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

Cabo San Lucas is the only tender port on that itinerary. The ship will use boats provided by the port, and not its own life boats.

We did the MR on DCL and I have to say it wasn't my favorite cruise itinerary. The ports just aren't as nice at the caribbean (Cabo was nice). Plus, we went at the beginning of June and it was cold.

We are wanting to do the MR just because it's so close to home (7 hr drive vs. flying across the country). I don't really care about the ports. Also we've never done a 7 day so just being on the ship and not having to pay airfare= oh yeah!:cool1:

So we may be a little cold, we'll manage. We were cold on last months Wonder but we still had so much fun!

First time doing MR. Would either of you do it again?

I would do it again, just because it is DCL and we can drive down to the port. We love Cabo, but we might not get off at Maz nor PV. However, PV is one of Bay Area's favorite destinations, so we just might had not known what was good.

I wish they had CA residence discount also, then we definitely go again, and again.

I would do it again. I really enjoyed Cabo and Puerta. I was not a huge fan of Mazatlan, but the other two were fantastic. The one downside to MR is that it tends to be a little cold at sea and the seas can be pretty rough sometimes. We went in June and were freezing during the days at sea. The MR was warm of course, just to and from was cold. I wouldn't necessarily choose it over an E. Caribbean cruise, but we had a great time and enjoyed the ports and of course the entertainment.

We've done that itinerary 3 times and yes, we'd do it again, mainly because we love cruising anywhere and it's pretty convenient to drive to the port. We've gone in both March and July and didn't find it cold either time of the year, although the 1st and last sea days were a little cool in March. We find Cabo pretty boring and stayed on the ship last time. Haven't done anything in Mazatlan but horseback riding on Stone Island which we absolutely love. Puerto Vallarta is beautiful and there's lots to do (I can recommend the dolphin swim, Las Caletas, and the Outdoor Adventure :thumbsup2)
